I remember years ago Burger King did a Mushroom Double Swiss burger. I was a fan at the time. So recreated today with burgers from the butcher, two rashers of smoked, streaky bacon a couple of mushrooms and a slice of mozzarella all fired into a lightly toasted brioche burger bun on top of some salad leaves and sliced tomato. Condiments of burger mustard and Heinz Tomato Ketchup.

It was very good, thank you.

Brioche burger bun is undoubtedly, without even a hint if a shadow, the correct thing to have a burger on. I like McDonalds etc but in a restaurant or at home if it isnt brioche it can GTF.

I'm not convinced by the brioche bun fad. I find brioche to be a bit dry and slightly crumbly which doesn't work well with a burger for me.

A toastie maker thingy. Makes lighter and tastier (IMO) toasties than from the proper toasted sandwich machine.

Interesting. Where would one procure such an implement?

Also, are you rich?

Does alternative toastie making apparatus smack of opulence?

It's a Dualit...the only toaster a gentleman should buy.  In fact, I mentioned that to your Mrs last year when she was whining about toasters:
