19QOS19
Is underage drinking in pubs still a thing? I thought the whole under 25 thing made that a non issue. Probably not for guys. Reckon 'certain' lassies will get in easily enough even if they are 17.

Bonus in there is if you're into people watching (from an anthropological perspective of course), then there's a real varied representation from all parts of the Peoples Republic. Guy tried to sell me perfume and X-Box games from his manbag and a 32" flat screen tv which he said was in his van round the corner. Characters indeed. Guy was distracting you whilst his boy stole the milk from your tea.
staggy1929
I was in Wetherspoons in Glasgow on the way back home from holiday and had a chicken burger from there and it was surprisingly good. I rate it as a cheap pit stop tbh.

No-one is saying it's high quality food but it serves a purpose. I'd also throw a wee bit of a defence to the big arsehole owner guy. Did I not read somewhere that they treat their staff well (better than average catering/pub trade) and the fact they try to support local products is definitely admirable. On the whole, not somewhere I go if given the choice. But each to their own. The guy that owns Wetherspoons is an arsehole as is anyone who helps put money in his pocket. HTH.

Shite drink, shite food, shite owner, shite customers and more often than not the toilets are fucking miles away from the bar. Not sure what you would class as a mink but the last time I was in there it was mostly Jack and Victor types enjoying a cheap mid-day pint. Harmless enough. Not my first choice of boozer... -
Bairnardo
Its best not to confuse Wetherspoons with an actual pub. That way it doesnt get injected into conversations it really has no place in. Its a holding pen for Jeremy Kyle with cheap alcohol and frozen/deep fried food. Sometimes its the establishment you need. Still not a pub.

MONKMAN
Sure, if you want fine dining go somewhere more upmarket. Would you go to a Michelin Star restaurant for a fry up?Heathrow Terminal 5, Gordon Ramsay’s Plane Food, costs about the same price for a breakfast as the Wetherspoons. I know which one I’d go to.
