Back in 1662 William Christian was sentenced to be hung, drawn and quartered.

His wife appealed against the sentence which was changed by the Deputy Governor who decided he should be shot. This was carried out on the 2 January 1663 and an entry in the Parish Register of Malew states that ‘he died most penitently and most curragiously, made a good end, prayed earnestly, made an excellent speech, and next day was buried in the chancel of Kirk Malew

Just goes to show it's always worth appealing a death sentence.

Much like I think I might not feel up to a last meal if I was being executed, I'm not sure I'd be up for a stand up routine while the firing squad loaded up.

Just watching a film about the death penalty in Pakistan on Al Jazeera (it was that or Stayt and Munchetty) and some government manny has just explained that where someone gets multiple death sentences they get hanged then the corpse gets hanged again. Lol.

Funnily enough they do the exact same thing in Ireland. To be sure.

I enjoy looking at random places around the world on Google maps and Street view. I just looked Keith (the town in Moray , not some random fellah called Keith) and was surprised to see that it is a near perfect grid of streets, more like an American city than a small teuchter settlement.

When the football is on I look at maps of the towns and check out the pub reviews around it on Google maps.

I do stuff like that. During quite moments at work I go on virtual holidays on Google street view.

Las Vegas is fun. If you go to the very edge of the city you can see desert on one side of the road and green gardens on the other.

Saw this story and just thought how things have changed. Bags of crisps and peanuts good enough back in the day for the munchies.

Police carrying out a drugs raid on a cannabis farm in southern Italy have seized a stash of 235 frozen dormice - said to be a mafia delicacy.

The lanes actually only got names less than a decade ago.
