broon-loon
I'm hoping that post was one big euphemism! The truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth M'Lord..
BFTD
That awkward moment when you ask yourself "if I drop down this wee pitch here (lit only by headtorch), will I get back out of this cave which nobody seems to know about or even that I'm up this way today?": (the answer is just btw) Alright, question. Occasionally I'll see a movie about spelunking or similar, like The Descent or 127 Hours, where somebody goes off into the middle of nowhere to an incredibly dangerous place without telling a soul. Inevitably, they get themselves in trouble and either die, or are forced to amputate their limbs and eat them in order to survive. I always have a wee laugh to myself at the start of these films due to the stupidity of the main characters - surely nobody is that stupid in the real world? Nobody would actually do something like this without making a call to a friend or family member, telling them to call the emergency services if they didn't check in again by a certain time? Do people seriously do this?
BFTD
Been watching CSI: Miami lately as I felt the need for some hilarious Caruso action. They did the usual Law & Order thing of taking stories that were in the news at the time and adapting them for their own ends, but it seems like they always tried to take a right-wing approach to it; not something I'd ever noticed before. Their version of the West Memphis Three turn out to not only have been guilty, but to rape the main celebrity campaigning for their release before going on a rampage Their treatment of Steve Jobs death was hilarious too - arslikhan of the highest order, with almost every character delivering a verbal tongue-bath to the character, and by the end of the episode their Steve Jobs substitute has practically been raised to the status of deity.
KnightswoodBear
You watched the prequels? Did the wife just look at you and say... That and the fact I wore my R2-D2 bunnet she made me all day whilst doing it, you're not that far away from the truth there. You need to get the shit ones out the way with before you can enjoy the good ones. And III isn't bad purely because it's a bit fucked up.

Didnae flop his cock out once in the Star Wars films though, the sell-out. Was fully expecting Obi-Wan to beat General Grievous to death with his tadger. Even read the little "I'm voting no to the SNP.." quote in a Partridge voice.

Do people seriously do this? I've read that the reason why the '127 Hours' gadge was on his own in the first place was because none of his mates would hike with him. Apparently, he's an utter whompercunt who was constantly putting himself and others at risk due to his up-his-own-arse-ness and general disregard for basic safety measures. Nobody who knew him was at all surprised to learn he'd got himself into bother but were mostly PO'd that the meeja portrayed him as a hero rather than an idiot.

The film doesn't hold back on making him look annoying and irresponsible- that's one of the many things I like about it.

Shotgun
The film doesn't hold back on making him look annoying and irresponsible- that's one of the many things I like about it. I really should give the film a go. I deliberately avoided it because I was weary of the coverage Ralston was getting. He lives not too far from me, so the local news (sic) outlets were going nuts about him. That and I can't be doing with James Franco. However, several people have told me he's good in it. Including posters on P&B and if you can't trust the judgement of P&B posters it's a poor lookout.

Probably a pointless watch if you're familiar with the story, however.

It's a good tactic by your missus here. My sister in law was at about the same stage and the examiner couldn't pass her and get her out of the car quick enough.
