kiddy
Anybody catch the end of the Tour de l’Eurométropole the other day? Anthony Turgis went clear & started celebrating only to be pipped on the line by Dan McLay [emoji38][emoji38] Saw it this afternoon, bet he felt a complete fanny. No doubt his DS wouldn't have been to happy either.
peasy23
Sammy Sanchez sacked by BMC after his B test also returned a positive result for PEDs. At 39 you would have to think that's his career done.

kiddy
Nibali takes Lombardia & Trentin Paris-Tours to pretty much bring the season to a close.
printer
Route for the 2018 TdF announced this morning. Interesting stages include a 35km TTT, a lengthy stage over much of the Paris-Roubaix cobbles and a 31km "hilly" ITT on the last Saturday Prudhomme quoted as saying he wouldn't mind a Froome v Dumoulin showdown, and there appears to be nothing in the overall parcours to prevent that.
Salvo Montalbano
That was my first impression too. Add Landa into the mix and it makes for an interesting Tour. Sadly it means there is absolutely zero chance of Froome attempting the Giro to hold all three big ones at the same time.

Salvo Montalbano
Some of those stages look very long and lumpy when you see them that way. They do like a start or finish in Pau.
kiddy
UKAD drop case with Wiggins over #jiffygate.Probably more to do with Tyson Fury threatening to bankrupt them. Doubt they could handle another case against them, where their opponents are better financed than them.
jaggyness
I see froome is riding the giro and tour next season in an attempt to hold all 3 before going for a joint record holding 5th tour. If he manages it, I personally don't think it's possible, it would be a greater achievement than his tour vuelta double this year
Salvo Montalbano
Is that confirmed? Fantasic. This year's Giro was an excellent race - Froome and Sky will have to be at the top of their game to do that, let alone the double.

I kinda hoped we would see all the big names, at their best in the tour
Salvo Montalbano
Just saw it on the BBC too. Last year Dumoulin won it with Quintana and Nibali slugging it out but not able to make up time lost in the TT. Landa and Thomas were there for Sky, Pinot, Bob Jungles, etc - not so many big names as the Tour but still a strong field. It'll be interesting to see who goes up against him as team leader at say Movistar, Quick Step and BMC.

Savage Henry
Sounds like the vultures are circling over Chris Froome, to the surprise of absolutely nobody.

peasy23
Any reason why it taken three months to come out? Just the usual efficiency from the UCI. Bizarre that it only seems to be one day that he has exceeded the limit when he would have been tested multiple times during the race.
Salvo Montalbano
He's saying that he took more on the advice of his team doctor so presumably on the other days he was under the limit but on this one day he wasn't? It does sound like Sky may have made an arse if it. FWIW, I don't think these asthma drugs should be allowed full stop and I'm quite surprised Froome has a TUE (I'm guessing) for this given his zero tolerance stance in the past.
