It's easy enough to follow with a week's break between episodes. The problem is the long break between series. The Good Place recently started its final series without any exposition reminding viewers what situation the characters were at the end of the previous series. I think there's a definite strategy now to create television which encourages viewers to rewatch the programme before each new series. In general, doing anything for ten hours straight isn't particularly healthy and especially in this day and age where companies play on our mental weaknesses it's not a bad idea to practice some self-restraint. Binge watching, even if it's only 3 or 4 episodes at a time has become the norm. The days of having to be in front of the telly at nine o'clock on a Sunday (or whatever) to catch the latest episode have long gone. Peaky Blinders was a nice exception. Waiting a whole week for the next episode did feel a bit strange though. But it was worth it. I'm with you on the reflection and conjecture.
