I would probably say classic rock. There's some slightly metallic moments on occasion (such as Ready To Rock) but they're generally a bit more bluesy and soulful that I would consider them a heavy metal band.

I'd say classic rock is Chuck Berry and soft rock is Heart. For me Whitesnake are heavy metal.

Looking forward to next year in terms of new albums. Defiantly new albums from In Flames, Devildriver and Opeth due and I have my fingers crossed for some new stuff from Tool and Gojira as well.

Can't wait for the new Opeth stuff, and if DevilDriver's lives up to the standard of Pray For Villains that'll be a good listen.

I need to listen to more Gojira, up there with the best bands I've seen live but hardly listened to their recorded material.

You have to get their last two albums - From Mars to Sirius & The Ways of all Flesh. Two modern classics IMO. I was like you when it comes to Gojira. I'd heard of them but didn't really pay real attention to them until I saw them live supporting In Flames at the Barrowlands. Their performance that night was brilliant and I wish I'd paid attention to them before then. I really hope they play Glasgow again soon as I'd love to see them do a headlining show.

I spent the week before the Christmas holidays at work listening to The Panic Broadcast.
