The character of Carl has/had the potential to play a big part and should really have been Rick's righthand man. I completely disagree with the second part though. Chandler Riggs is just dreadful. I think because he's been there from the beginning the producers obviously don't have the heart to replace him. His character has improved dramatically in the last 3 seasons. The acting in the show is pretty decent from all of them, the only time I have cringed is the few scenes when Daryl cries (Merle as a walker, after Beth dies). There have been many great episodes over the past six seasons, but that for me anyway was just something else altogether.
