To be honest I'm not entirely sure it matters when it was, our pitch is on its last legs and driving cars (plural by the way) onto it doesn't seem the best idea to me.

You're going to go ape when you discover they likely drive a tractor over it a couple of times a week 🚜

If it's necessary for maintenance etc then fine, and it is likely a mini tractor to brush the turf, but driving a number used cars onto the pitch so some X factor reject can ask a few football players if they're ready for the season and what their favourite food is, when we've heard so much complaining about the surface seems a bit daft to me.

Don’t think you know much/anything about artificial surfaces. Driving cars onto it won’t make a jot of difference. We had about 10k people on the pitch in the summer.

With protective steel laid on the park first, yes.

Aye this is definitely less damaging than a couple of cars.

Technology and materials have moved on a lot since ours was put down.

Hybrid synthetic/grass seems to be the way ahead the Hearts surface looked good for example

The club should have what they want already decided and be in the tender process.

If they haven't then forget next closed season for getting it done.

Am I not right in thinking that part of the pitch hire money was supposed to have been ring fenced so that the pitch could be replaced after it was past its best?

No clear mention of it here but Douglas McIntyre does speak of a business model which I’m sure included putting aside money for it.

That pot was probably eaten to try cover costs of being in League 1.  I can't see the pitch being replaced until we are in the championship no matter how bad it gets.

Can’t see it either. Only chance would be a soft loan to cover it but even the repayments would likely strangle us a bit at this moment in time.

Sounds like Hetherington and Mcginn in the middle tomorrow with Yeats right back, unless Liam Henderson is fit to start

Does it? Just because he has got over his illness it doesn’t mean McGlynn will change a winning team.

He seems to enjoy having Hetherington & McGinn as the two centre midfielders, hopefully he gets bored of that.

Hetherington only trained yesterday and today can see him being on the bench.

Really hope with Henderson being fit again doesn’t mean Leon McCann will get dropped again. He’s been absolutely class the last few weeks probably our best player since he came back into the team and from what we’ve seen so far he’s a much better left back than Mackie.

I’d also hope he keeps Oliver playing in the middle of the park. Really like what I’ve seen from him this season although it’s clear he’s not a striker but had his best game for us so far playing as a number 8 last week and more than deserved to keep his place.

Henderson has had 2 training sessions after being out for about 5 weeks, think it’s a pretty safe bet he won’t be in tomorrow’s starting 11.
