5 hour drive minimum

I did Wick from Linlithgow in 2015 and was a 5 and a half hour drive but that was with snow at Aviemore. In decent conditions it would be about 5 hours.

We stayed at the Norseman Hotel. Bang in middle of the town and had a great night after game postponed at 2.20pm 🤣🤣.

Wouldn't recommend the train - think it takes about 4 hours from Inverness.

One Rose fan lives in the Borders. Got a bus to Galashiels, train to Edinburgh Waverley, taxi to Edinburgh airport and flew to Wick. Flight back on the Sunday was cancelled and was stuck there until Monday.

Having driven the above mentioned Sydney to Gold Coast (Brisbane in my case), and driven to John of’ Groats a couple of times, then although shorter, the road to Wick is a far more demanding drive. Sure, the Oz distance is much longer, but once you are on their M1, it’s a straightforward time event with nothing like the obstacles and traffic/weather variations of driving to Wick.

Once we agreed (or were forced?) to change to red today the blue away strip was the only option for Kelty. That one is understandable.

Not sure about the QOS light blue. It happened in August, so maybe they'll have to get a third strip just as we did last year? I'm sure one of their fans who monitor this thread will enlighten us.

There's absolutely no issue at all with us playing in a very pale blue away kit at Falkirk. We also wore it at Ibrox and Peterhead in August and both their kits are far lighter than yours. We do now have a 3rd kit launched last week but as it's black we'll not be wearing it at Falkirk either. Our pale blue kit is far more likely to clash with a white kit than any sort of darker blue. The only issue we've had this season was at Montrose as their home kit fades from dark blue to light blue across it which meant it clashed with both our blue kits. As the black wasn't available at the time they had to change kits but we'll wear the black kit next time around.

I can recall both Falkirk, and Dundee for that matter, playing at Palmerston in their dark navy kits while we wore Royal Blue which was a nonsense but permitted at the time. I doubt it would be now right enough.

The point isn't the issue that your full light blue clashed it was the fact that last year we had a full light blue away kit which was then deemed unfit as an away strip by the authorities forcing us to have to rush  out a third kit.

Your pale blue kit isn't much different in shade from the two we've had previously. Which we weren't allowed to wear at Ibrox in 2009 and Peterhead last year.

And yet we were allowed to do both, albeit I'll concede the referee v Peterhead did so reluctantly because there was little other option and wanted the shorts changed. The final call on these things is always down to the match referee ultimately. The one against Rangers never batted an eyelid. He was perfectly happy with the pale blue. Match was televised too and viewers managed to cope ok without confusing the two teams. 🙄

If you have a complaint here it is, as @Shodwall cat said with whoever told you a 3rd kit was required, not with us. 🤷‍♀️ To be fair, we always had a 3rd kit coming, and were probably tolerated a little more due to the lack of kit supply throughout the country this summer. We never expected to get through the season with 2 shades of blue kit and no other available. Montrose had to wear their 3rd kit at home as a result which is unfortunate and won't happen the 2nd time as we now have the 3rd kit. It's conceivable we'll be told to wear the black kit at Peterhead next time too though for me it's more of a clash than the pale blue is. We'll see when it comes around.

SFA/Refs have always been tough on FFC when they’ve let others off.

Back in late 2012 we wanted to have our shirts (in 2013/14) with different colour sleeves to match the style of shirt and the SFA/Refs knocked it back on the basis both sleeves had to match, even though prior to that season & after that season, Rangers & others had kits with exactly that same set up.

This is what they were meant to look like inc the 3rd shirt that never got made.

Hate to defend them but the Rangers kit, although similar, did have matching sleeves having compared them.

Not inconclusive but does seem that it is consistent that sleeves have had to match.

Yeah, this seasons do match but going back 10 years or so to the period in question (c2012) they had had a couple of kits where they hadn’t prior to that. There was another club we quoted too but fell on deaf ears. Anyway, long time ago now although still annoyed me 😂

When does the contract end ?

This is the last year of the current contract.

Kits normally have to be ordered around this time of year for next season (at least with Puma) so I imagine the club will be well done the line in deciding on either a new supplier or extending.
