Annoying things people write on Facebook

I know a lad who posts every year at the longest day saying "that's the nights drawing in now" and gets bites every time.

If my Dad was still alive, I'd be wondering if you were friends with him on Facebook. That was one of his favourites.

Things are getting interesting on my feed this morning. I'm friends with a middle-aged wumman (in real life, I'm friends with her middle-aged husband but she comes along with the deal) who routinely posts the kind of inane shite we talk about on this thread. I've referenced her posts a few times before.

Anyway, she recently accepted the challenge of posting a photograph for 10 consecutive days, each illustrating a film she likes. The fact that she considers this to be a 'challenge' tells you all you need to know but that's by the by. Each day she nominates one of her friends to take up the challenge. You know the kind of thing.

However. not one of her nominees have paid the slightest attention. None of them are doing it. And this morning she's calling them all out for "not being true friends." Some of them are just ignoring it, (or haven't seen it yet) but three of them are fighting back. Insults and abuse flying back and forth, apparently long-held grievances being aired and it really looks like years-long friendships are being flushed down the shitter.

I've got stuff to do but this is too much fun to leave.

Bam kids chucking stuff at cars in dunfermline.
Some wifey tells everyone she will kick fick out of them if they touch her car.
Her profile pic is her car.
It's some weird van covered in unicorns and weird stuff.
Guy tells her it would be an improvement.
She goes mental and accuses him of stalking her and posts a few angry posts only for her pal to tell her it's her profile pic.

one that I've noticed is this, and apologies if mentioned before...heres the example...

Bloke on my facebook page(and no, not me, think my last status update was 2014) just wrote a post about Brexit, essentially saying he was against it but would just get on with it.

This then descended into a few folk laying into him for "giving up".

Which then escalated into him defending himself and an argument, and amongst it,  someone saying  "I thought better of you - UNFRIENDED".

Why someone had to announce they were unfriending him, apart from the obvious attention seeking sh*t, is beyond me..I just cant understand as an adult posting something like this is normal behaviour... "you are not my friend anymore"  - last heard in primary 4.

Not sure what anyone would have been expected to say there. Are the folk complaining not "getting on with it" just by waking up and going to work in the morning?

"Well, I didn't want to leave the EU, but it's happening, so I'm afraid I'm off to top myself. Cheerio folks"
"That's us officially severed ties with Europe - seems like a dreadful idea to me, so I'm off for a course of ECT to change my mind on the matter"

(the answer is obviously to have deleted his Facebook account before posting, but I'm assuming that's unacceptable)

An excellent observation!

The word "challenge" appears to get a free pass nowadays, in the ATPWOF stakes. But it is, generally, nonsensical.

All those damn benefit claimants with their thousands of pounds and 95" Tele whilst I go out and work for minimum wage to keep them in luxury.

Yep that's exactly the way it is after a decade of Tory rule. Probably all came over from Europe to get free medical care and a welcome bonus £10K too.

It is always about the size of their telly eh.... Despite televisions being, proportionately based on time spent using them for entertainment, an absolutely cheap as chips item these days. You can get a telly bigger than some folks gable end for about 250 notes these days.

If it's not the telly, then it goes "latest iPhone and holiday to Spain"

Used to be Sky TV. As in, "my man's the only one working on our street, and we're the only ones who can't afford Sky TV".

Might want to check the lying c**t's payslip, hen.
