Zen Archer (Raconteur) Posted November 14, 2015 Share Posted November 14, 2015 I enjoy his work , but Reece Shearsmith just reminds me of TLOG and Inside No9, this detracts from the plot. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

~~~ Posted November 14, 2015 Share Posted November 14, 2015 What was that story about the "grunt" all about. Pointless and terrible 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
meanmistermustard Posted November 14, 2015 Share Posted November 14, 2015 (edited) This weeks is so dull. Given up paying much attention. The last two parter was decent tho the ending with Osgood being two and staying on Earth to protect it was excruciating. Clara gets hotter as she gets more annoying and pointless. Its a catch-22. Suppose its better to let her die horribly so we can all move on. Edit: Just finished. The ending was interesting, shame for all that came before. AMMjag Posted November 15, 2015 Share Posted November 15, 2015 (edited) I enjoyed last week's, but that was probably the worst episode I've ever seen. Basically a half-arsed 'let's run around a spaceship closing doors' job that didn't even bother building a convincing plot. And not for the first time this series the standard of acting outwith Capaldi (and Coleman to a much lesser extent) was utterly shit. Just boring. The only positive is that it wouldn't be the first time they hit out with a right shiter shortly before a great series finale, so here's hoping they put all their effort into playing to their strengths (i.e. Capaldi) for what's left of the series. Bully Wee Villa Posted November 15, 2015 Share Posted November 15, 2015 It was alright. A decent enough take on the base under siege format, albeit the central concept was shite. Liked the line about Silurians, although I know one poster will have hated it! 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
RandomGuy. Posted November 15, 2015 Share Posted November 15, 2015 Its becoming increasingly clear the Doctors going to be absolutely fucking ruined when Clara disappears from his life. The glimpses we get of a moody, brooding, quick to anger Capaldi are the best bits of him though, so it could be the sort of turning point in his Who career. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
lightscamera Posted November 15, 2015 Share Posted November 15, 2015 I'm sure there was also another hint at Clara becoming the hybrid when he mentioned that she "has all that still to come" with the 38th century stuff 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Shaggy Jenkins Posted November 16, 2015 Share Posted November 16, 2015 Im really beginning to wane with this series, havent enjoyed one eppisode yet. I lasted 10 mins of last one before deleting it from the planner 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
scottsdad Posted November 16, 2015 Share Posted November 16, 2015 I was braced for it being garbage. It was written by Mark Gatiss (of 'Robot of Sherwood' fame). It was better than I expected, but it was still a but poor. Under the Lake was a far better Base-under-siege story. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
killienick Posted November 16, 2015 Share Posted November 16, 2015 I've had a couple of days to think about that episode now and, whilst it wasn't up to the usual high levels of Gatissness, (pish), it was still very average. My main problems with it were the fact that the Reece Shearsmith character's plan was just stupid. Make a movie just to trick people into watching it? Why did it have to be so elaborate then and why didn't he just embed the signal on some cat videos on Youtube? Also. What's with the ending? The Doctor pretty much ran away and has allowed villain to construct the tape and send it out. (didn't he say earier that the Sandmen would destroy the human race?). 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
KnightswoodBear Posted November 18, 2015 Share Posted November 18, 2015 It had a decent premise, but as soon as we got to "sleep dust" I lost interest. It was another of those episodes where they are desperately trying to recreate that "Blink" lightning in a bottle. Capaldi is really being let down by some truly awful stories this series. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
