A great feeling at Cappielow..

Sadly the guy in question and the other roasters you are reading on that thread are the cretins that have many decent fans tarnished with the same brush.

Horrendous vile patter aimed towards the team, aye ok but towards an 80 year old pensioner, ghastly behaviour, angry or not!

That thread is good reading right enough, it allows other fans to see the difference between the "Morton Casuals" and typical normal supporters.

Morton fans are great

Good to see that vikingTON even noises up his fellow Morton fans. Always impartial.

They aren't a very friendly support, are they? Happy clappers are quickly shouted down. That sort of atmosphere can't be helping the team, and given that their new manager is a happy clapper it won't be going down well with him either. Maybe time for another trip to the doctors. Either that or get professional help for the fans. Mental problems abound at Cappielow.

To be fair most clubs are the same, especially on their own club forums. Certainly Falkirk fans get divided very quickly into happy clappers and doom merchants as soon as we lose a game, and there are those that just shout abuse at their own players regardless of what happens.

It's just that Morton are in a situation that brings out the worst.

Exactly - case in point. I only read it if there are transfer rumours or there's been a supporters meeting/AGM. Otherwise it's just the same people posting the same polarised shite regardless of what's going on.

If Douglas Rae wishes to retire then he can be treated like an "80 year old pensioner": while he runs Morton (back) into the ground he will be correctly treated like the incompetent buffoon at the heart of the club's underachievement.

That people wish to rush to the defence of a 'team' (using the term loosely here) that has won one and lost fourteen of the last 18 - half a season's - matches says more about themselves than the 'boo boys'. It'd be rather funny if a proscribed list of fans pops up tomorrow.

No no: Morton fans are exclusively detrimental towards the side's performances (quite how that's even possible this season is a mystery): such disgraceful behaviour wouldn't occur at any of the 'good family clubs' elsewhere in the Central Belt. That's the narrative.
