Sherlock - BBC

I thought it sounded Latin TBH.

Anyway it was excellent, again.

one would assume that it is a pre-arranged codeword between holmes and watson in the event of an imminent trap/danger.

I thought that part was quite amusing considering they were going to see a dominatrix.

It's not bizarre at all. Let me explain. You referred to the show in question as "Hammy shite aimed at middle class morons." You denigrate the show while simultaneously devaluing the people who enjoy it - without actually offering any justification for doing so. This sort of behavior is commonly attributed to people who are compulsively negative on the internet - which you were assumed to be by your statement, and thus the original question.

Separately, but related, your chosen venue of attack was the assumed intelligence of the "middle class," which reveals yourself to be rather puffed up on what you see as your own vast intellect. With more than eleven thousand posts to your name, you spend a great deal of time online - and your focus on "intelligence level" - limits you to a rather sad group of self-aggrandizing internet blowhards.

Does any other member with only 1 post have so many greenies??

just watching it on sky+

not really enjoying it but lol'd when the domanatrix was wandering around naked and he stood up off the couch with his jacket strategically held over his crotch.

very subtly done

I see the Daily Mail are already greeting about the nudity.

I don't understand why, it was more to show how she was outsmarting Sherlock by giving him nothing to deduce about her.

Still, she was really sexy.

I thought it was brilliant personally. I don't where standfree is coming from. I thought it was well written, moved at a good pace and had a couple of great twists.

The only thing that annoyed me was at the start which made his face off with moriarty a bit of an anti-climax imo.

The only other way that scene was going to end was with Sherlock and Watson being killed.

Which would have made for a pretty shite 2nd series.

The intital scenes at the pool was a bit off to be fair, I'm not sure i like the moriarty character.

I'll need to reread the Irene adler story now, the first half hour to 40 minutes was really spot on in terms of updating it iirc.

Sherlock is, in my opinion, really good stuff. Can anyone else think of other classic characters who could ge a modern do over?

Or that the post they were quoting was indeed trying too hard, going off on a rant about number of posts etc.

Maybe, but it's still a bandwagon popularist pishy term used by those who can't express themselves any better or with any originality. And is still used by many when they don't have a comeback.

Thought it was great. But Moriarty is so shit- like Graham Norton meets Ant & Dec. Shit, shit, shit.

Agreed with Moriarty. I was struggling to take him seriously with the "I'll burn you" comment, but I did enjoy his final appearance in the episode.

I reread the story this episode is based around a couple of weeks ago, and found it to be pretty loyal to the Adler-Holmes relationship for the most part.

Of the four episodes so far, all but the second have been fantastic. I'm fairly confident with the stories chosen that we're in for a quality conclusion to the series.

Hammy shite aimed at middle class morons. The bit at the swimming pool was excruciatingly bad.

I'm middle class! Hurrah!

I'll have a read over the weekend, but as the show progressed i think Adler was presented slightly inferior to Holmes - he fancied her sure, but he was clearly her intellectual superior, i;m not sure if the original story was quite so kind to Holmes, i always remebered her as the one who "beat" Sherlock, I'm not sure I would say if this episode did that

Feel a tad geeky now!

How many episodes are left?

It was certainly something along those lines. He always at least respected her and found her intriguing because she beat him. I do agree to extent, however from a clutch onto straws point of view she still managed to nutrilize him and get away from him in the first place, not to mention the whole not being able to deduce her when she was in the buff. I think the latter part was what attract him to her in the place because she was something of a mystery to him, which he had never encountered before.

2 more hour and a half episode of awesomeness.
