(Figs depend on sauce). Given this hasn't happened then as a director other companies would be warned from working with him. Something like guilt by association. If he remains at company the bank may refuse to handle their stuff etc. Basically he either deals with or the other directors get rid of him or it potentially will cause problems. Lots of ifs.
