This from Billy Ocean's biog. on Wikipaedia (I shit you not  ) :-

Early life and stardom

"He was born in Trinidad and Tobago to Grenadian parents, and moved to Govan, Scotland with his family at the age of eight.[3] Ocean's musical influence came at an early age of his life, as his father was a musician, and realised he was in line to follow those ambitions as he was growing up. During his teenage years, he sang regularly in Glasgow clubs[3] while also working as a tailor in Glasgow's St Enoch Centre.[citation needed] He released his first single in 1972 on Spark Records as Les Charles.[citation needed] He is a supporter of Celtic, despite growing up in Govan. In spite of his support of Celtic, he is rumoured to be a member of the Sevco consortium, led by former Sheffield United Chief Executive, Charles Green, who have recently bought a controlling stake in Rangers F.C.."

The Saviour has arrived. :cheers

Don't know if this has been replied to as my WiFi shut down for 36 hours but if Ibrox is riddled with asbestos then it should be shut down immediately and left unused until the deadly stuff can be removed. There is no question of bulldozers going in until specialist teams have removed all the suspect material.

Legally, it's fine to leave it there forever. As long as the asbestos isn't damaged, then there is no danger.

For further reading, I'd advise http://www.thefootballlife.co.uk/post/24632893725/is-ibrox-undervalued

The fact is that, while more permissions are needed than normal, it would hardly be the first time a listed building has been demolished but, more likely, anyone redeveloping Ibrox would want to incorporate the listed front (and it's only the facade that's listed. None of the stand is). Ibrox for £4.59m (as in the CVA) is an undervaluation as long as the planning can be obtained. And if the stadium is undervalued then there are legal issues with the entirety of the CVA, as per http://www.thefootballlife.co.uk/post/24599057974/legally-challenging-the-rangers-cva

A fine example why never to take at face value what is on Wikipedia.

The St. Enoch Centre was built in 1986, ten years after Billy Ocean had quit his job at Ford's Dagenham to concentrate full time on his music career after his first Top 10 hit ("Love Really Hurts WIthout You"). By 1986, he was enjoying a worldwide No.1 with "When The Going Gets Tough", not sewing buttons on suits.

I don't think anyone would be taken in by that WikiHack (except perhaps the Big Hoose guy). 8)

@frankieboyle: Incredible to watch the Red Road flats go down. Great work, surely this firm must now be top of the list for the Ibrox job.

I know the guy who's doing the explosives on that, now for a quick phone call :D

Thanks to BBC's Al Lamont for pointing me in the direction of Green again baring his backside at the rest of Scottish fitba. Rangers will try to sign players while in admin...

You've gotta read this everybody (click link).

Fantasy stuff.

Target list of 19 players, five playing at Euros?

Renaming Ibrox for £10 million?

I hope this guy is a con man for his sake, because if he believes the tiniest iota of anything he's said, he is insane.

Why on earth are Hinge +Brackett involved in a budget for next season?

And he says he has added £1.5m to the budget Ally McCoist and the administrators Duff & Phelps had been working to for next season.

The income is guaranteed, Green's just got the e-mail from a Nigerian businessman and as soon as he sends off his bank details Ally's war-chest will be in the account.

Maybe I clicked on the button accidentally. I certainly did not mean to!

Well, apologise to the man! If he takes it personally he could complain to our overlord Div, and it doesn't bear thinking about if he phones you.

The last phone call between a Morton fan and him is still referenced too on almost a daily basis on here, even after a couple of years !
