Wings Over Scotland
He was saying on Radio 5 live that he wants to have the club called Rangers football club, when asked how he could do this he replied by dropping the plc from its name just now. See the blog post I linked to on the prevous page - in fact, as far as I can ascertain insolvency law allows them to just take over the old name, as the club was bought from liquidation.
Hedgecutter
This whole saga is going to have a 'you'll shit bricks' type twist to the end, isn't it? I reckon Rangers will die with no league to play in, Whyte ends up jail and Green bankrupt while Gattuso walks away into the Italian sunset with £10 million briefcase, shaking hands with Stewart Milne.
THE KING
New flash BDO don't give a f**k about the asset sales. There will be no money after they investigate thoroughly. This will be a long and forensic investigation into how Rangers avoided taxation. If they can prove it was deliberate and if there is any recourse legally against directors etc. If all HMRC wanted was a few more pence in its pocket they would have got it in a CVA. this is now about getting people not money. D&P estimated £1m for liquidation, expect all available funds to be used to find the dirt on Whyte, Murray et al. Yeah I'm looking forward even more to watching slimy minty being grilled in court and all of rangers dirty dirty laundry being aired
charlie church
Not surprised to see the likes of McColl and Park waiting in the wings - no respectable businessman was going to touch Rangers FC Ltd (In Administration) but it's a different story now the club's assets have been transferred to a seperate company (Green's Sevco Ltd). Predictions: Sevco Ltd sell to Smith-fronted consortium for a small profit. There'll be a debt-free Rangers in the SPL next season - hamstrung by points deductions and financial penalties for 2-3 seasons. The newco will 'inherit' the oldco's 140 year history, but will be eventually stripped of the titles won during the EBT era.

It does not matter, everyone knows what they were and what they are not now. It is but a name, they killed off their history, all of it.

Leepylee
The record today says that sky will pull the plug if newco fc don't keep spl status. I hope that people are VERY clear that IF newco fc are saved by other spl chairmen who are swayed only by newco fc gate money and sky tv money then football in this country has died on that day. Can we really continue going to watch football when we have already made a statement which tells the world that no matter what you do, you'll always get to play in the spl if you have a decent sized crowd ? Maybe fellow sky subscribers should email sky to tell them they won't get another penny from them if they ruin the integrity of our league. Although perhaps like a honey trap, it would be best to let sky test our collective chairmens resolves. I suspect however they will be found wanting.

Florentine_Pogen
Please explain how this conspiracy works for me, at my worst I totally fried my brains on weed and legal highs, my thought processes were all over the place and I had to seek medical intervention but I was never as wired out as you seem to be now. So from the beginning, let's say from when Murray owned the club and the hostile takeover pact was conceived, the floor is yours my man.....
Buckshee Fizz
Woof! Just spent best part of three hours playing catch up. I'd actually been starting to think that the great days of this thread were behind us, with something like twenty pages of garbage when all those Tipex Rangers fans came trolling, but today it's back on track with a vengeance. Who'd have thought that there'd be so much good clean wholesome fun to be had from the terminal twitchings of the MAGICAL Glasgow Rangers (they of the incredible shrinking tax returns)? A club that was unsaleable, attractive only to shysters bent on a fast buck, and suddenly, AFTER liquidation, here comes a gallant band of would-be saviours, riding to the rescue doubtless on canonically correct white horses! (Fat Sally on a horse - it'd have to be a Clydesdale). BUT, the current Shyster-in-residence, the sartorially-challenged one whose name is altogether the wrong colour, has got hold of the ball and is refusing, for now, to let them play. You just couldn't make it up! Watching Rangers die is an adrenalin sport. Good thing we've got the Euros to help us unwind. Football that is not a matter of life and death.

So from the beginning, let's say from when Murray owned the club and the hostile takeover pact was conceived, the floor is yours my man..... rangers have a massive tax bill to hmrc which no one in their right mind is going to pay. so the club is sold to craig whyte who is a specialist in the art of not paying tax and goes into admin. unfortunately whyte causes a bit of stir and pisses off pretty much everyone in the world. because of this he has to go and in steps charles green to form the newco. not an hour after the newco is formed the real consortium come forward to buy the club and are feted as heroes rather than villains who put the club into admin, liquidation and bumped the creditors. this consoirtium take none of the criticism, get a fair bit of praise and get a debt free club, the stadium and murray park for peanuts.
Granny Danger
Any word on the new name? For the most part I think they'll be referred to as 'those dirty, cheating h*n b*****ds' for a few years.
GreenockRover
Surely the word Clusterfu*k has earned its place in the Oxford English Dictionary (Glesga Edition) ? With the difinitive description being a summation of everything written about RFC (liquidated) ?
