Big Rangers Administration/Liquidation Thread - All chat here!

Is it not better to wait and hear what the appeals panel say about the whole EBT scheme?

What part are you failing to grasp that you cant punish somebody until you have found them guilty.

They had been found guilty. That is why they were appealing.

A troll appears to have eaten your homework.

Apologies if this seems hopelessly naive, but has anyone posed the question to Sky - "Okay, it looks like we may have a wee problem here in providing you with 4 Old Firm clashes for the next few seasons, so what's the script on the TV contract if we can't deliver?"

Surely it is possible to get a ball park figure (or no figure, in the very worst case scenario) that would allow some sensible analysis of whether or not there really is a bogeyman out there.

Reminds me a bit of the Gruffalo story!

There is a thread dealing with the tv deal in SPL Chatter. Therein you can read what Sky told me this morning.

Accepted, so long as you can define the "their" in "their interests". If, say, you told the Chairmen of most SPL clubs "We've been on to Sky/ESPN and they're saying there would be no cut in the fee offered" how do you think they would vote on a Newco? Or do you believe it's not about the money?

Sorry, i was referring to the SPL (cockwomble et al) and to an extent the SFA.

IMO if the other 11 chairmen were told there would be no cut in the sky cash Rangers would've been punted at the first NEWCO meeting.

rangers have a massive tax bill to hmrc which no one in their right mind is going to pay.

so the club is sold to craig whyte who is a specialist in the art of not paying tax and goes into admin.

unfortunately whyte causes a bit of stir and pisses off pretty much everyone in the world. because of this he has to go and in steps charles green to form the newco.

not an hour after the newco is formed the real consortium come forward to buy the club and are feted as heroes rather than villains who put the club into admin, liquidation and bumped the creditors.

this consoirtium take none of the criticism, get a fair bit of praise and get a debt free club, the stadium and murray park for peanuts.

Thank you for introducing me to a whole new experience ... agreeing with you ;):P

To be honest mate I don't really read your blogs because anything of worth in them gets discussed on here. I would however like to know what your views are on the matter of UEFA, with the 3 years accounts rule does that mean that they are essentially saying that a club with no available accounts are for all intents and purposes a new footballing entity? And that new clubs have to be trading for three years in order to prove they are football clubs? Kind of like fledgling clubs maturing into proper clubs after three years?

Also, if the club and business can be separated surely then the accounts of the club are separate from the accounts of the business and should be passed over to any new company along with everything else which goes with the club?

To be honest, I dont read his blogs because theyre full of nonsense

This morning's revelation is nothing short of disgraceful. I thought the football club formerly known as Rangers could stoop no lower. However, this deal is disgusting.

If the football club formerly known as Rangers gets away with this scot-free, I worry I will lose all my appetite for football in Scotland. I love Dundee Football Club and love watching them play. Admittedly, I thought I was done when Dundee went into administration for the second time. However, I was won back by the heroic efforts of our support and players.

If the football club formerly known as Rangers get back in the SPL though, I don't know what I will do. I cannot see how things can ever be redeemed in my eyes. Scottish football has one chance to change...blow it and this chance is gone for good. Kick the football club formerly known as Rangers out and re-work the OF weighted voting provisions. A lot is talked about finance. Surely 11 clubs in a non-Rangers SPL could vote to adjust the share of the money so as to compensate.

The SPL chairman have one opportunity. Otherwise we will have the status-quo for good.

What are this mornings revelations?? What have I missed?

Err, actually, No 8 is right.

Tax tribunals dont work like that. HMRC have presented Rangers (oldco) with a bill, Rangers (oldco) appealed that bill claiming it was incorrect. That isnt the same as a criminal trial where you're found guilty of something and then appeal

St Johnstone 1884@stjohnstone1884 Saints' ability to finance a deal for L Croft hinges on Rangers being in the SPL according to @GavinBrowne77 of the Manchester Evening News.

The propaganda machine is in full swing already.

Some English mercenary looking to restart his career or the integrity of Scottish football.

Difficult one....

And neither does it have to be beyond all reasonable doubt to prove the guilt, if it looks like a turd and smells like a turd then you can be sure as fcuk that it is indeed a big smelly turd.

My thoughts on this would be 'Tough for Saints'.

I'm sure they can find someone else who they CAN finance a deal for without Rangers being in the SPL.

What do Saints fans think?

Anyone see Michael Johnston's latest this morning in the Retard on the Sky deal. It's predictable stuff but then it ends with "Johnston will vote to admit the Rangers newco into the SPL because he believes they have been punished enough" but stops short of supplying a direct quote from him saying that. I know it's no surprise given his previous statements. If I was a Killie fan I'd be letting him know that I will be walking away from his team. Punished enough! Dearie me.

Someone needs to get a grip of this situation.

The Rangers haven't been punished. They were formed this week, FFS. The old Rangers are all but an irrelevance to the SPL now, so any talk of punishment in that context is wholly spurious.

The reason that the newco shouldn't obtain a direct passage to the SPL is because that is not how a competition based on merit operates. Clubs work their way through the leagues and reach the top league based on merit.

Punishment has nothing, whatsoever, to do with this.

How hard a concept is this for arseholes like Johnston to grasp?

lee croft was brilliant last year and would love to sign him.

he's injured and i think that may prevent others going for him whereas we would be willing to take the risk.

hence i think we could get him on loan again if we hold out or buy him without having to pay the fee that derby are looking.

its disappointing to see statements like this altho they are fro a journo in manchester and not saints.

i would rather we dont buy croft , reduce our spending , get relegated so be it ... than agree to allow Rangers back into the SPL

i have a bad feeling the chairmen are going to allow them back in in return for an equal split of voting rights revnue etc

in which case i will have watched my last spl match.

NO TO NEWCO

I obviously don't want to see Rangers/The Rangers expelled or suspended from the league set up...Who would that benefit? Certainly not Scottish football.

Ive not read all this thread but in what I have read you have came across in the main as being decent and pretty well balanced for a Rangers fan but can I ask, were you in favour of your club packing it's bags several years ago and heading off to ply their trade in the English leagues with Celtic? I suspect you were, therefor I have to question exactly how much of your concern for Scottish football is actually driven by your concern and willingness for Rangers to survive.

Utter mince. St Johnstone usually press release to Perthshire Advertiser and Courier and generally get ignored in the Daily Record. In the history of the club I have never known us to send press statements to the Manchester Evening News, or for that paper to show any interest in our existence. This is clearly from Croft's agent or Croft himself and not SJFC. We offered a deal to Jody Morris who has left for Bristol and so if the club chose to do so could fund Croft's signing. He would need to take a significant drop in salary from his days at Derby and rightly so. So utter mince and as 7-2 says propaganda. Move along nothing to see here.

I read on here they hadn't been found guilty of anything...HMRC demanded the money and Rangers appealed their decision either way it is pointless discussing something that has still to be ruled on
