~~~ Posted July 2, 2012 Share Posted July 2, 2012 http://www.blackandw...eting-re-newco/ Intereting tweets coming from the meeting tonight. Seems very likely that despite the noises made by chairmen, there is a distinct chance SevCo could have their newco in the SPL next season as"99% of corporate sponsors" have pull-out clauses. 3rd Div apparently very unlikely and will definitely push St Mirren into liquidation. 1st Division the most likely scenario, according to SG... Hmm! Not sounding good at all - think tomorrow eve could be very interesting. Hope our, and other clubs', chairmen don't make a hasty and Ill-thought-through decision based on the lure of corporate money, but flying in the face of overwhelming fan opinion I hope to f**k that isnt true. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
vikingTON Posted July 2, 2012 Share Posted July 2, 2012 If what gilmour is saying is right, and the chairs will about face and vote them in , then junior clubs are gonna have record attendance next season, anyone fancy taking a game at Farmuir park to see the famous Dundee North End??? Count yourself lucky. Most clubs in the Central and Ayrshire regions are mini-Rangers love-ins anyway. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
ayrmad Posted July 2, 2012 Share Posted July 2, 2012 I'd love to see all these contracts, if true, the useless fcukers need their baws booted from here to kingdom come. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Broccoli Dog Posted July 2, 2012 Share Posted July 2, 2012 I will personally shit in the premises of each of the league sponsors if they force the Newco to be voted through. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
cbhaf Posted July 2, 2012 Share Posted July 2, 2012 If this stuff about the sponsors' contracts is right, and the sponsors are accepting Sevco as being "Rangers" couldn't we call any club Rangers to meet the conditions? Congratulations on your promotion, Dundee Rangers. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Reluctant Hero Posted July 2, 2012 Share Posted July 2, 2012 "99% of corporate sponsors" have pull-out clauses Don't know if it has been mentioned already, but 99% of supporters have pull-out clauses too. And if we pull out because Newco are parachuted in somewhere, then "corporate sponsors" won't be far behind. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Fife Saint Posted July 2, 2012 Share Posted July 2, 2012 Remember, way back when? Weatherseal's owner, what's his name? Who are these other corporate partners? Fair play to Gilmour, sounds like he's at least being honest. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Thumper Posted July 2, 2012 Share Posted July 2, 2012 Congratulations on your promotion, Dundee Rangers. That is actually Dundee F.C.'s full name. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
LordHawHaw Posted July 2, 2012 Share Posted July 2, 2012 Let me get this right...99% of sponsors have a get out clause if there is no Rangers in the SPL..and these sponsors have said they will pull out if Rangers are not in the SPL, sounds like shite 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Fife Saint Posted July 2, 2012 Share Posted July 2, 2012 Clydesdale Bank, you will be the first. They've gone. Don't let that stop you. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Macshimmy Posted July 2, 2012 Share Posted July 2, 2012 Ah FFS. If this all happens according to the script, I propose we resign from our respective clubs en masse, and support Queen's Park, filling Hampden whenever possible, and utilising our geographical spread-ooty-ness to bring unprecedented away support to the 3rd division. "Ludere Causa Ludendi" That is All. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
ayrmad Posted July 2, 2012 Share Posted July 2, 2012 (edited) Clydesdale Bank, you will be the first. There in store customer service in the Ayr branch is shite anyway, if I wasn't such a lazy b*****d they'd have been binned long ago. Sky, Record and Sun already on my hit list, gies the sponsors and I'llbe like Ebeneezer. Edited July 2, 2012 by ayrmad 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
thelegendthatis Posted July 2, 2012 Share Posted July 2, 2012 (edited) If that's the best a supposedly fiscally prudent club can manage the baw's burst. So 99% of the SPL sponsors have get-out clauses - and may use them, unless the newco club which is as yet unable to take its place in any league, never mind the SPL is allowed straight back in to the SPL. From St Mirren meeting note It would be courageous sponsors who held such a gun to the head of the SPL, SFL etc. If true I would be absolutely amazed. To end up with the responsibility for taking a proactive role in contaminating Scottish football and the subsequent fall out would have real impact on their own brands. This doesn't appear to be an attractive proposition to any serious business. http://www.bbc.co.uk...otball/15760190 And to think that only last November the negative things Doncaster had to worry about was "illicit chanting" and late payment of player wages have created negative headlines." How things have moved on. Edited July 2, 2012 by thelegendthatis 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Cutty Old Posted July 2, 2012 Share Posted July 2, 2012 That's right,that's right,that's right......... Just laughed out loud............well done ! 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
AsimButtHitsASix Posted July 2, 2012 Share Posted July 2, 2012 So when these clauses were inserted couldn't they have been inserted in the case of Rangers/Celtic ditching us for England/North Atlantic League but protect the league itself in the case of one or both of them going tits up an being relegated? SPL Chairmen are fucking geniuses by the way. 0 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
