Big Rangers Administration/Liquidation Thread - All chat here!

Recommended Posts

Of course it's a tax dodge.

Give me the name of any large or largeish company who disny dodge tax wherever possible.

Anybody?

No?

I might give it a bash, if you can name me another company that's responded to an investigation of its tax dodging by ripping off another for twenty five million quid, then deliberately putting itself in administration through non-payment of taxes, followed by liquidation. You know, just the kind of thing that innocent parties always do when they're wrongly accused.

Seriously, you can't laugh long or hard enough at this stuff. David Murray was so confident of the legality of this half-arsed scheme that he flogged your club for a quid to the first passing conman rather than face the music. Craig Whyte was so confident of the legality of the scam that he deliberately forced the club into administration to avoid liability. Your directors were so confident of its legality that they've spent the last year shouting "It wisnae me!" and slashing each other to ribbons in the press.

And now, we're getting all this crowing and cackling about how credulous everyone else is, for believing that so-called "loans" that feature "voluntary repayment" may have been dodgy and/or criminal?

Good God, your own directors believed it with such certainty that they destroyed your club rather than take responsibility for it!

What's happened here is that HMRC have failed to prove to two of the judges' satisfaction that the entire scheme was a massive, intentional tax-evading scam, and we're stuck with the farcical idea that Rangers constructed an grand, exotic financial instrument for paying their players, then suddenly - for no clear reason - decided to make taxable payments to only a few of your employees. Well aye, that makes a whole load of sense.

Once again, your club has slithered away from taking responsibility for its own reckless, insane financial policies, just as it's slithered away from repaying companies, organisations and individuals throughout the land; just as its fans are still slithering away from the consequences of liquidation.

Listening to the men who orchestrated this collossal disaster crowing about their awesome victory and baying for retribution - on HMRC, on the SPL, on the tax case blogger - is just hysterical. This whole thing has been hilarious from start to finish, and here's the best part - it's not finished yet.

Even though the BTC went their way, even though they budgeted for Europe every year, even though the SPL slanted prizewinnings in their favour, even though they had 4 OF games a season, even though they kept the receipts from the home gates, even though they had 500M fans world wide, even though Dave King, ENIC & Ticketus money was sunk into them by the tens of millions.

They would STILL have been put into administration & not had enough to get a CVA through.

Roll on Gio De Stefano resurrecting them & we have an "I'm Spartacus" moment!:lol:

Haven't read this thread in ages as it went to shite from the start of the new season so sorry if this has been covered already, but those of you saying 'This is even funnier because Rangers were liquidated for nothing', that's not true is it? Was there not still about £50M of debt separate to the Big Tax Case due to Whyte's non-payment of PAYE and other debts? Was HMRC's share of the debt not big enough that they would still have had over 75% of the share if the debt for voting on the CVA?

Obviously it's a vindication for Rangers fans and it's fair enough that they're gloating to those who were convinced it would go the other way, but as far I can see in practical terms all it means is the debt to HMRC is smaller.

Didn't take the RTC blog long to shut down and disappear ? Bye bye

So are you now going to push for the club to pay off the rest of the creditors? since you are debt free.

Would be the "dignified" thing to do

agree?

Only the fans of Rangers FC (R.I.P.) are saying that 'Rangers were liquidated for nothing'. No other fans have been saying that

Rangers were liquidated by HMRC due to the £21million in VAT and PAYE owed to HMRC due to their failure to pay any VAT or PAYE over 9 months leading up to Valentines day 2012 when the club was placed in Administration.

Rangers have been consigned to liquidation after Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs decided to reject an offer from Charles Green's consortium.

The decision means Green's Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) will fail to achieve the 75% backing needed from creditors.

HMRC, whom Rangers are listed as owing more than £21million, believe their decision allows them to pursue individuals in the courts.

The tax authority forced Rangers into administration in February over millions of pounds of unpaid tax under Craig Whyte and could also pursue former owner Sir David Murray over a tax case, which could result in a £75million bill.

The liquidated club was riddled with debt before and on the day that David Murray flogged it to Craig Whyte for £1.

Pay back the creditors please

Rangers administrators have revealed the club owes at least £55m and is facing a further tax bill of up to £79m.

The full list of creditors and debts owed by the Ibrox club has been set out in the report by Duff and Phelps, with the club's total debts reaching £134m.

On Thursday, the report released by the insolvency firm revealed that Rangers have been running at a "substantial cash shortfall" since being plunged into administration on February 14, with the club owing money to 276 creditors.

The total revealed by the administrators includes £55m in confirmed debt and factors in a further £75m, their predicted cost of Rangers losing the 'big' tax case, as well as a debt of around £4m for the 'wee' tax case.

It's time for you to move on , let it go .

It's not good for your health this obsession

So you don't care about the people you ripped off?

The "debt free" club should be paying back these creditors. do you agree?

It's a simple question, why don't you answer it?

And yet only the Rangers fans who sat back and did nothing to stop from the club from dying would try to claim this as some sort of moral victory

My thinking on it is that without the £75m stacked in HMRC's favour for the BTC, the other debts were of a level that had Ticketus agreed to a CVA it would have happened, and the other £14-£20m owed to HMRC would have been irrelevant. From memory, Ticketus agreed to the CVA proposal. That to me means Rangers were liquidated for no real reason.

Ah, morning Bendarroch. Glad to see you approach a perceived victory with the same total lack of grace as you do every other event in this sorry saga. You'll notice that, as well as holding my hands up, I gave credit in the same post (the one you cherry-picked from - old habits, eh?) to those rangers fans who have contributed in a positive manner to the debate on here. You'll also note I specifically excluded you from that list. You may want to ask yourself why.

In fact, fuckit, I'll tell you why. You're a nasty little bigoted c**t, with f**k all to offer this thread - no original thought, no sense of decorum or social skills, and the mental capacity of a slug.
