"A current example of the difficulty being faced by the Club, and which will regrettably impact upon supporters, is that for next season supporters will now be unable to pay for their season tickets by credit or debit card. The Club's merchant acquirer, which processes credit and debit card transactions, has advised that it would require extensive security, including standard security to be granted over Ibrox Stadium and an insurance policy at considerable cost to the Club, to protect itself against any potential liability arising from passing on monies from season ticket purchases ahead of next season's matches.

The Board believes that one of the major factors influencing the merchant acquirer to change its terms was the extensive negative coverage of calls in some quarters for supporters to refrain or delay purchasing season tickets.

As previously stated, the Board has no intention of granting security over Ibrox and therefore has regrettably decided that for the current season ticket renewal process it will proceed with direct payment only to the Club by way of bank transfer, cash or cheque payment. Any supporters who are on the automatic renewal scheme will not have their tickets renewed automatically and will also require to renew their seats individually."

in other words, we don't have any credit facilities, cos the banks don't trust us to survive, now our credit processing supplier doesn't trust us to make it through next season, in which event they'd be liable for season ticket holders.

Holy fcuking shit! :o

Life support machine? Sounds like a power cut is on the way too!

Been told to expect redundancy announcements at some point today.

The review says no cut to the player budget. Sad to say it looks like the wee guys will be screwed over if my sources are accurate.

Incredible that the present BoD are still trying to blame and blackmail the Sevco fans for the loss of card payment facilities.

Midfield Maestro on KDS sums it all up quite succinctly :-

They won't make it to another share issue.

They need season ticket cash in now. Actual cash, not credit. Good luck getting that off your fans in 3 weeks. They don't have time to call a general meeting to get the authority to do another share issue. They will be in administration before summer unless they somehow get a loan facility from someone (who will inevitable take much more than their pound of flesh).

They are stupid, feckless b*****ds. They had a clean slate but they have spent monumental amounts on diddies to win part-time leagues and their internecine warfare has lead to a situation where they can't pay their season ticket money - the one thing that will tide the club over - on any form of credit.

This is all very reminiscent of our second admin. Credit card companies wouldn't deal with us, I think out youth teams were severely limited but Massone was saying that we were going to be the third force in Scottish football.

Of course the irony here... or at least, one of the many ironies... is that so much of this is exactly what everyone else has been saying, and many Rangers fans denying, for the last 2yrs.

Spending money like it's water. Wasting millions of WiFi and buying property. Splurging cash on unnecessarily good (and thus expensive) players. Buying a player like Templeton. Not having a proper scouting network or system to bring through enough young talent. Cash pouring from the club to hangers-on and 'investors'. Excessive staffing and coaches renumeration.

It's a club which has not only just failed to learn its lesson - it's gone around telling everyone the teacher is wrong, only to end-up redfaced and facing a damned good caning while it howls for its mammy.

is it realised that this current board wasn't in place and not to blame for most of these results?

You honestly believe there are no connections between the current board and the folk they are blaming?

That's a fair enough comment Bendy but if true, shouldn't they have emptied the cupboard of skeletons and did the "A big boy did it and ran away...." act as soon as they took control ?

I can't help but think the whole thing from Murray selling the Club to Whyte to the present day has been one big charade........where the money these "spivs" have had is their pay off for doing certain peoples dirty work......ie Murray and dare I say King?

Probably some truth in that assumption and I would love to read the definitive story one day.............but it'll never happen.

I have absolutely no doubts in my mind that the vast majority of what has happened was planned out long in advance. That the Rangers fans still can't see it is the most unbelievable part of it all.

:lol::lol::lol:

Amusing though a lot of this is (SPL champions within three years, ffs!) redundancies of support staff isn't really all that amusing.

Has it been worth spunking £70 million in two years (!) to win the seaside leagues? For the rest of us, absolutely - hilarious that some of the bleating about "still needing to be competitive in the cups!!!" has returned a Ramsdens Cup runners up and two reamings by Dundee Utd. edit: while crippling the newco, of course
