timmy
Who said what? Do you think the players just gave up their right to their bonus? The money isn't there to pay it. Edited May 5, 2014 by timmy
The DA
timmy, what's your source? Is it a twitter feed? If so, while quite a plausible rumour, you'll excuse me if I wait for something a bit more reputable before I head out for my j&ic.
timmy
My cousin works at Ibrox. This is the rumour doing the rounds inside ibrox. A few players are apparently threatening to leave if its not paid.
timmy
Yep its the same with asking the staff to take voluntary redundancies. They simply haven't the money to pay people off.

strichener
From what I can see. They will only take the money once security over Ibrox is granted. You can pay by credit card (unlike Rangers) and receive the the full protection this offers. Won't work like that, "the service" that you are being provided by Ibrox1972 will be covered by Section 75 protection but the season ticket will not.

Monkey Tennis
The guarantee is that they will pass your money onto the club once security has been granted along with your Rangers number and seat details, they make it clear that they cannot guarantee what seat will be provided. At this point the club would have promised seats in exchange for this money and security will be in place so if the club then reneged on giving seats out then that security could be called in by Ibrox1972, we would have basically funded a stadium purchase by Kings company. Think I could live with the risk in that unlikely outcome. The set-up looks reasonable, and dare I say it, transparent. Its success does seem to rely on the presumption however, that handing over security is preferable to those in control; to entering another insolvency. I'm not convinced that it is.

I understand this but paying by credit card will not see your money protected under the Section 75 of the consumer credit act.
strichener
up to a point it will, if for instance they were to take the money before security was granted or not pass on the details to the club as guaranteed. This doesn't provide any extra protection though as it only protects against the intermediary not delivering a service. (which is actually an added step in the purchasing process). If they pass on the money and the club go bust then there will be no refunds based on section 75 protections. Exactly the same position as you would be in at a personal level if you just purchased the season ticket with cash. ETA: Clarity of meaning!! dave.j
So, the UoF/king want security over the whole stadium and Murray Park, or just a portion of it, relative to how much pledges they receive in proportion to their last published worth? Tedi, you seem quite up on this, have the UoF provided this info yet? How many fans pledges will it take, for the totaliser to reach the value of the assets in question? -
Bing (2)
Pledge away Tedi....the more the merrier.... You'll need even the fake pledges to pay for this lot Edited May 5, 2014 by Bing (2)
strichener
Yes agreed but in this scenario the security could be called in thus protecting the stadium, I think most Rangers fans would be happy in this knowledge. Sure, you do realise that the only thing that could happen is that the club could be forced to sell the stadium to pay you back. This could see you being asked to pay significantly more to the "spivs" to purchase the stadium as there is no hope of ST sales being worth more than Ibrox and MP.
hellbhoy
Teds, that's a good point and well made. I was defending Wallace the other day but I was being naive. You're reaching an even lower level of idiocy than I thought you capable of. I would ask you to define a 'true football fan' but I know all you'd do is post a meaningless gif and then The QC would follow it up with a content-free post with hunners of smilies. Yer clubs fucked at some point.
Bing (2)
Are those credit cards being pre-authorised that you are forced to give fake too? ? No idea....I ain't pledging a farthing (Just in case somehow it is legally binding )
Bing (2)
Sell to who? Can they do this with security hanging over it? Paying us back while asking for significantly more? how does that work? Wasn't it already sold vastly under the revalued amount whilst the security was "hanging over it"?
strichener
Hey if some obsessive celtic fans want to give their credit card details to help Dave King, then why not. From the website Pledges for non season ticket holders are not legally binding and only suggest an intention to purchase a 2014 - 2015 Season Ticket if security is granted. - See more at: https://www.ibrox1972.co.uk/commit-funds/non-season-ticket-holders/#sthash.pHVudo4b.dpuf
Bing (2)
Hey if some obsessive celtic fans want to give their credit card details to help Dave King, then why not. In what way would it help King? He cannot have assets outside SA, already was a director of a club that was liquidated etc etc. He is only after the media coverage.
