THE KING
Said from day one that I did not trust this Sarver bid, delaying tactic? used to sound out opinion of fans to a new messiah? if he genuinely wanted to buy Rangers then you think he would have at least tried to foster a deal with one of the groups that the fans actually trust. The vast majority of Rangers fans are glad Sarver did not see his bid given any serious consideration, they saw him as a plant or a diversion, so not sure where you are getting this from? RM? if so then FF is a much truer representation of how fans feel, it has far more members and a 16 page thread rejecting Sarver. ETA, there is actually around 11 threads on FF all negative in comment, there was also a poll with only 12% wanting him to succeed....the fans do not want action. Oh dear if only you hadn't listened to your racist hero Chris Graham.....ONE-TIME Rangers wannabe owner Robert Sarver has promised to invest a whopping £30million transfer kitty into Spanish club Levante. The American banker tried to buy Rangers at the start of this year, but his £20m offer was rejected. He has since turned his attention to Valencia-based La Liga club Levante as revealed by Record Sport Online last week and his offer has been backed by The Levante Foundation the shareholders group who run the club. ~~~
King already worried that Celtic will do 10 in a row. That's the reason why he's desperate to "overspend" not because it's what's best for Sevco, but because he believes it's best to stop Celtic

The Rangers side he grew up watching were stuck in the shadow of the Lisbon Lions and Celtic's 9 in a row. I'm not sure why he would be worried about another 5 or 6 years of Celtic winning the top division.

THE KING
Pours cash into..... Then when you read the article it's he promises too.... Big mike? Copying MacGillivans dreadful patter....It was the previous board who knocked Roberts take over offer.Wrong.The old board had no option but to knock him back because he would not get majority shareholder support. As TEDIs quoted posts show the vast majority of Rangers fans believed the 3Bs lies that he was a patsy so they could get control. How are Rangers fans goin to feel if Sarver pumps millions into another club? ..... The revised proposal by Mr Sarver was similar to his first proposal in the respect that it sought a placing of 100 million shares (to be priced at 20p in this proposal) which would require the approval of shareholders (at least a 75% majority) at a general meeting," it said. "The board of Rangers rejected the first proposal from Mr Sarver on 6 January on the basis that the board felt it unlikely that the approval of shareholders holding sufficient shares would be forthcoming."
bennett
Good old King says i'm wrong about the old board hunting Robert, then produces a statement showing that the old board did indeed hunt him. As the QC would say " " -

Monkey Tennis
I accept that it was the old (Ashley inspired) unpopular board that denied this American guy a foothold. What was the fan consensus though? I don't think that the suggestion that the reception to him was lukewarm while King was in the wings is wildly wide of the mark. I don't actually recall Sarver as that clear cut a choice at the time - it all looked a bit vague and indistinct. With hindsight though dear Rangers fans, he surely looks like he'd have been a better bet than King. No?
