Big Rangers Administration/Liquidation Thread - All chat here!

Surely the re-sale value for Rangers assets (the stadium, training ground, players etc) would be worth more than the 10p of the pound they'd get from a CVA?

I know these assets are only worth what someone is willing to pay, but still.

The stadium probably has a lower market value than the wasteground beside it if Rangers were to fold.

10p in the £ is looking like it's pie in the sky.

The Blue Knights will hardly be able to cover Dumb and Dumber never mind cut a deal with anyone else.

HMRC are in the business of getting the most money. If a CVA gives them more money that liquidation then they will take it.

According to our friends in England, HMRC will always refuse doing a CVA with a football club.

I'm still convinced HMRC are looking to make a bit of a statement by putting a club out of business to scare the rest. Obviously they wouldn't do it with an EPL team, but Rangers are a big enough diddy club in a diddy league.

The situation in England is different. HMRC have a grievance with the "Football Creditors" aspect that means they are getting less money than they think they should get. No such thing exists in Scotland so Hearts, Dundee United and whoever else will be treated like everyone else (apart from Craig Whyte, he hopes). I'm not saying HMRC will be easy to deal with but their is definitely a deal to be done. Ultimately they want to maximise how much they can get out of Rangers

#CRAIG WHYTE was last night on the verge of striking a deal with a wealthy British football consortium.

the businessmen are now front-runners to land Rangers — after US tow-truck tycoon Bill Miller pulled out.

We can reveal majority shareholder Whyte, 41, WILL deal with the consortium, made up of a number of people with experience from clubs in the Premiership.

Sources say they DON'T want to liquidate the club and plan to exit administration through a CVA.

An insider said: "The consortium is being led by football people with experience at the highest level in the game. They've serious money and most importantly it looks as though they have the blessing of Whyte.

"Talks took place all yesterday afternoon and things have been moving quite quickly.

"It is understood an agreement with Whyte is 90% in place.

"The people involved know about Rangers and their history and liquidation is not what they want. They want to exit administration through a CVA.

"The most important thing is that is seems Craig Whyte is keen to work with them."

And which Scottish purveyor of newsprint has published once a story that turned out to be truthful and accurate?

Oh....

BBC

"However, it is believed that neither Kennedy nor the Blue Knights are among the other bidders to have now come forward, one of which is thought to be worth close to the £11.2m being offered by Miller."

So, the next you've never heard of them bid is even less and they see the books and walk.

This is Wed, 2 days, next bid, 2 days, Sunday, next day, bye bye.

D&P need the last 17 days of May ring fenced cash to claw in some fees, club deid Monday.

At the end of this mess are D&P in danger of litigation from any creditors, given that they could likely have raised £10-£15m by clearing out the players 3 months ago rather than lose them for nothing in 3 weeks time?

I agree.

Despite the almost-unrestrained joy this latest development in the saga has provoked, looking at the process from an analytical point of view, it is at best fair to say that Duff and Phelps' handling of this case has been marked by incompetence and naivety, and at worst it has been mismanagement consistent with the individual who insisted on their appointment. I think questions need to be asked at the highest legislative level as to whether even the administration has been corrupt from the beginning, with the end result being a delivery into liquidation that would most likely serve Craig Whyte before everyone else, especially Joe Public.

Well, first there were 3, then there were 5, then there were 4, then it was down to three again, then it was two, then it was down to one preferred, then we thought there was one total bid left but according to Duff and Phelps there are three, possibly four on the table again.

I have figured it out. the only thing Haudit & Daudit found of any use at Ibrox when going through the filing cabinets, desks & safe was one dice. Everytime someone from the media phones and asks how many bidders today they roll the dice - 3, no 4, no 2, no its one today. And we all thought they were wastng time and doing nothing

Anyone else smelling the shite coming from Duff and Phelps 'multiple bidders' spin yet?

So we're talking about the big tax case then?

NOTHING has been proven, decided, stated in a court of law that Rangers owe any money to HMRC whatsoever.

Apart from the cluster f**k that Whyte inflicted on the club, there are no charges to answer. That's why the club is in administration.

All the other crap that people scream about, meh.........rolleyes.gif

When we were in administration Bill Barr 'claimed' to be owed £500,000. No proof required, just lodged a claim, and this was accepted. It's only afterwards that he would have to actually produce any paperwork. By that time, too late, the club was dead. Yours will suffer a similar fate.

Why limit blame to Whyte? Miller stated the club had suffered years of financial mismanagement. That's Murray AND Whyte.

Is that a guess? Or do you have facts?
