If T'Rangers are placed in the First I hope their every away match is played out to a background of absolute hostility from the stands. They must never be allowed to forget they are cheats who should have been thrown out of the game altogether.

Slightly off topic, but is there a limit to loanees in Div 3?

Theoretically , if Rangers were to go to DIv 3, what is to stop Celtic unofficially adopting a "feeder" club (for argument's sake Queens Park or Clyde) and loaning them the the youngsters, likes of Tony Watt etc. Thus hampering Rangers' predicted rise up the divisions?

Exactly answer the questions Walter (mitty)mad.gif

it's not illegal to use an EBT and it's up to the employer to make sure it is used correctly. smith has no case to answer here.

also if thomson thinks that smith or any other manager is personally dealing the small print of contracts he is deluded.

What's to stop them is Celtic's need for Rangers to be right beside them in the SPL for their own financial safety. Great theory though!

If they are placed in the First or any other league I also expect litigation from clubs denied access to those leagues in favour of The Rangers. Hope the Governing bodies budgeted for big lawyers fees this year.

You are probably at the wind-up as this has been covered in depth throughout the thread. All depends on whether the EBT was in the form of a loan & whether it was paid back? I doubt payments VIA EBT is in the small print, and you're telling me the manager had no idea, aye ok then.

Would Smith not have wondered where the finance for all these guys was coming from?

If you think Smith had no idea at all, you are as deluded as Thomson

He's rumoured to have received large EBT payments from Rangers years after he finished his first stint , while managing Everton. As did Graham Souness.

No one has explained why, but in Souness's case it coincided with a player transfer while he was managing Blackburn.

To think he didn't know how his players were being paid while at Rangers is naive. That's not a small print issue.

it was as a loan. loans don't have to be repaid.

EBT's are the kind of things that financial directors or chief exec's would be dealing with imo.smith obviously knew they were using EBTs by virtue of his having one but do you think he was wholly aware of the rules governing their administration?
