Monkey Tennis
And there's the rub. If that was their motivation, they wouldn't be travelling from all over the country, and from NI. They'd watch their local sides and save their money for something else. Indeed.
WaffenThinMint
When have Rangers fans EVER conducted a peaceful pitch invasion?! When have Rangers fans ever conducted a peaceful anything?
williemillersmoustache
Ok, this is quite exciting again, but I actually agree with the poster - aDonis was it? - who said earlier that this maybe isn't so awful for Rangers, at least if there's any truth in the 'I just want a team to support' rhetoric. This money keeps them afloat and should actually enable some sane running of the club to develop. Having to maybe rent the ground seems vastly important to Rangers fans, but it's just a daft pride thing. It's hardly unknown for clubs to be in such a position. Remember that this is the one group of fans capable of attempting to brush off a liquidation. Liquidation ffs! In that context, they can surely stomach paying rent. Error: Humility not found. They should be fucking delighted with this. By saying nothing and just pumping them quietly, if publicly and quite hard, he's already treating them far better than Whyte, Green, Murray et al. Again, gratitude seems in short supply for some reason? But spot on, great post.

P45
When have Rangers fans ever conducted a peaceful anything? Well there was that one time when they were liquidated. They were positively Gandhi like. They sat and did nothing.

Monkey Tennis
You did MT, will give you that. Fancy a shot on our Board? I'd certainly be interested, but I fear that I'd maybe fail the school question.

strichener
No requirement for security. Offer (1) A hugely unpopular figure within the paying customers who is breaking SFA rules and bringing the club into disrepute offering £10M in place of security over an asset that the BOD promised never to grant. Offer (2) 3 Business men with the clubs best interest at heart, popular with the paying fans without any baggage offering £10M with no security just 2 seats on the board. Which one do you think is better? Offer (2) does not exist. They do want security over the training ground.
