Savage Henry
As this thread attests to Indeed. Too easy to blame the hype on the tabloid press. People fell for it - whether he was ever actually all that good is very questionable.

People fell for it - whether he was ever actually all that good is very questionable. Typical situation where a boy stands out at youth level but doesn't kick on and is swiftly overtaken by even the most average of players who matured Interesting that this thread started with Feruz slating O'Halloran who is light years ahead of him now in terms of development without even leaving scotland
mizfit
Again i'll say it. In 10 years time he'll be playing junior football with a sun interview with "money and fake friends ruined my hopes" headline.

But yes, there's a big difference in career paths, and, it would seem, ego.
RandomGuy.
A perfect illustration of his problem, right there: a complete abdication of responsibility and the playing of the victim card. He hasn't scored any goals either, has he? Was this "scoring goals week in week out" spell on somebody's Football Manager save? Not a single senior goal to his name, and only 11 senior appearances (totalling 213 minutes) to his name. Averages around 1 in 2 for Chelseas U21s though... Clearly another youth who struggles with the effort required to step up to the senior level, and would rather play against children than men. Horrific attitude.
Dindeleux
Can't see it mentioned on the last page or two but he's been given a new 3 year deal with Chelsea and is off to Al-Hilal in UAE on loan.

A new deal?! Holy f*ck, sends out a terrible message to other below him at Chelsea if they are rewarding him with that.
1320Lichtie
He'll end up banging them in for Chelsea and snubbing us. Watch this space.

I did read this in either the Record or the Sun to be fair so perhaps just nonsense. Will try to find a better source.
Dindeleux
This was the only source I could find, which was my horrible original source http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/islam-feruz-dubai-loan-al-7345430
Bambino7
He signed a new 3 and a half deal with Chelsea fuckin hell what an agent.
Glenn Medeiros
He needs a good run of 10 games in the Chelsea first team and then we'll judge.
Lex
Absolutely astounded this guy has got a new deal at Chelsea aged '20', having never made any impact at senior level despite numerous chances at various clubs. Got to hand it to him and his agent. Plenty of kids his age with better records in the senior game than him end up on the footballing scrapheap by their 21st birthday. They've played a blinder.
BFTD
Do a wee search for 'Islam Feruz Contract' and you'll find plenty of reports that he got a new four year deal in 2014. Quite why Chelsea would offer him a new one with a couple of years to go is a mystery, especially as it would seemingly only extend the length by another year. Be interested to know if any new termination clauses have been included, as it's hard to see what Chelsea are getting out of having him around until 2019, considering it must be pretty clear that he's not going to be bothering the first team by now. Maybe just hoping to wangle a fat transfer fee at some point?
Neilly
I highly doubt Bonnyrigg Rose are going to be dealing in fat transfer fees mate.
BFTD
With the daft transfer fees flying around, maybe just being a product of Chelsea Youth will be enough to get a £10m fee from a second-tier club in Europe in a few years time. Presumably that would be worthwhile to Chelsea if he's on, say, half a million a year. No way he'll end up going straight to the Juniors from Chelsea; it took Garry O'Connor at least eighteen months after leaving Hibs, didn't it?

Wait just a minute here pal, are you saying that a top purveyor of news like the Daily Record could be wrong? Can't see it if I'm honest.

I've got a strange feeling someone at the sports desk has made a c**t of subtracting the time that's passed since his last contract started, and figured the signing was news because he/she hadn't heard about it at the time. No, that would never happen in the Scottish press. What was I thinking?
