Is cask strength a set percentage? I don't recall seeing 64.4% before.

64 is very high by any standards. The usual strength most whisky is laid down in the cask is around 63.5% for most distillers, which then reduces further through evaporation etc. I've seen some single cask Glenlivet at near 70% abv even with 9 or 10 years in the cask.

Very interesting. Never seen Deanston in the cask strength range. First fill sherry too.

U thinking of getting it? Quite tempted but would quite like a guinea pig before purchasing.

ETA also quite fancy this:

Deanstons only a 15min drive for me  (distillery exclusive)

My friend just poured me on of these. Lovely.IMG_20180505_190659.thumb.jpg.d61f958f40c0ab8eee317e637db7f88b.jpg
There was a bottle of that my folks house and it was very pleasant.
Splashed out on a bit of a whim on the 15 year old revival today - not sure if it is an investment or for drinking. Glendronach collection growing though.20180506_205130.jpeg

As I said on here before, I cant drink whisky as it just burns right through me. I offered my unopened bottles of Talisker  Storm and Skye along with 17 premium miniatures and somebody said they would take them. I asked how much and I got the smart arse answer of all of them. My neighbor is now rattling into them after paying the massive sum of a........ fiver.

Been off for the last couple of weeks and tried some amazing stuff. I've had samples of a 1999 Glenfarclas family cask, a 25 and two 27 year old Glenturrets at cask strength. Couple of Sprinkbanks, a 13 year old single cask which is really good and an 18 Old Particular which was surprisingly bad (really offputting fishy notes).

Then this week took a wee trip to Inveraray of all places. Found this interesting number! Been wanting one of these for ages! Wee miniature of another one I've wanted to try for good measure.

Peruse is a funny word.  It means both to skim over and read thoroughly.  It also has the American "oo" sound, rather than the British "you"...

... How's the whisky?
