Walking Down The Halbeath Road

Agree with pretty much everything that has been said.

He should have torn this league up for arse paper. Instead, he couldn't be arsed and is now clubless again.

He's signed for a random Belgian side, apparently part-time.

Big MAC left by mutual consent, didn't work out for him for some reason. He did well whenever he got a chance and scored a few. Reckon there's a player in there but maybe he was demanding first team action which isn't going to happen with Fais, Moffat and Wallace in great form. Reckon we should use his wage to sign another midfielder with a bit of battle or another target man.

He has the potential, or at least in the past showed the ability, to be better than any of our strikers. He never showed it though and seemingly was a bit of a dick (something that fans of othet clubs he's played for have said). He must have done something to annoy the management as he wasn't even getting off the bench, despite times when we clearly needed a change up front (Albion Rovers away for example).

Also he only scored 2 goals for us

Hopkirk isn't a striker. Moffat couldn't buy a goal last season. No one could have predicted how well Faiss has done & Wallace spent virtually the whole of last season out injured.

So yeah, pointless signing another striker

Hopkirk can play up front and has done this season, also it isn't like MAC joined us in preseason. The season was well under way when he signed so yes his signing was pretty pointless. Edited by GordieBoy80

McCabe and MAC were needed at the time but they have turned out to be the wrong type of personalities and have the ability but not the right attitude imo.

Signing a target man would be more useful than another lightweight midfielder.

I would say the priorities are

Strong battling midfielder

Full back

Target man

I realise our level dictates we can't have everything but we need those three players to make sure we win the league.

No you don't. You'll win the league with the squad you have quite comfortably.

Next year starts now. Each game won brings players nearer a new contract. Also getting players Championship ready to hopefully get promoted and hit the ground running next season. That's why AJ will be looking to strengthen.

He's not an out and out striker. Just because someone can fill in for us in that position doesn't negate the need to sign out and out strikers especially when those we had last season were either injured, unproven or pish.

MAC turned out to be a bit of a waste but there weren't too many complaints when we signed him.
