Walking Down The Halbeath Road

If there's any truth in this, and hypothetically the players did go on strike, what would the consequences be for them in the future? No doubt, as alluded to last night on here, plenty of fans would view them as disloyal wasters etc despite the fact they haven't been getting paid. Would it harm the chances of them finding clubs in future if they're viewed in that way? Any Accies fans able to enlighten us on what became of many of the squad who went out on strike in 99/00?

While it would obviously be an extreme step, trying to judge the probability of this happening at some point in the coming months.

Would fully support the players if they refused to play. I'm going to predict I'd be in a minority over that one though.

As has been said countless times, grim stuff.

edit- Just to mention I was talking to a former editor of a well-known newspaper in Scotland today and when I mentioned the possibility the GM had been accused of impropriety by some sources, he laughed heartily. I'm merely guessing he didn't think the suggestions were absurd. Allegedly. Maybe.

He said: "It's been an issue for two or three months. It's tough, it's embarrassing but it's not the end of the world. It's not as though they've been paid 15%. It's better than than having no job at all."

That's a pretty shocking attitude to have towards your staff. Wouldn't blame the players if they refused to play.

I would imagine a player who was half decent would still get taken on by another club if they went on strike. Would be interesting to see how much points the club would get deducted if a strike happened.

precedent hamilton =15 points

That was 13 years ago though, and when Livingston failed to turn up against East Stirling at the start of the 09/10 season they were only fined £3000 (which was also overturned on appeal, leaving them with no punishment at all), with the game being replayed later in the season rather than the points awarded to the Shire.

Apparently the rules do now state that it's a point deduction, but not how many points and they don't state whether the match is awarded to the opposition or rearranged for a later date.

yet east stirling were threatened with a 15 point deduction if they failed to fulfil the original fixture.

Not surprised in the slightest, Callum Morris wanted to know on Twitter what Masterton said yesterday in regards to the wages and obviously it's been passed onto the rest of the squad who are well within their rights to go to the SFL.

Also who is the poster 'Gazza' on dot.net? The guy is an absolute cock and should have his internet privileges taken away at once.

He's quite clearly the same person that produces the rambling press releases on dafc.co.uk. Can't fault his/her loyalty to his paymasters.

Dunfermline fans should just buy shares, That Masterton guy has a delay on loans being recalled for 35 years! This current problem is just cash flow, When the loan is called in the debt will be easily repayable.

The man has played a blinder

Sure get a bit more say in the running of club and other minor things, but in the future you'll be naming a stand after this guy.

You presume that there will be such a structure still standing to name.

According to Mr Masterton the club is bank debt free, the only monies due is to himself and directors,Well something is wrong if players, staff, bills etc arent being paid is he being pressured from another party to pay up or else because to me things arent adding up here and after watching the bbc interview im no expert with body language but he looked very unconfortable in the questioning and on occasions i thought your bull******g mate, No wonder the share issue hasnt been well recieved and i thought Rovers had a turbulent time with our BOD over the years. Im really fearing for the Pars future especially have someone like that running the club.
