He was one we were apparently after early in the window despite featuring a bit for Barnsley. Wacky Posted August 31, 2023 Share Posted August 31, 2023 Well todays the day the widow “slams shut” it doesn’t waft, creak, or click shut, it slams for some reason The management at the club know what we need to bolster our squad, and if we are to get full contract played in it’ll have to be today. The window isn't really relevant at this level. Very few clubs can afford fees and most clubs don't have any assets worth selling. It might not be relevant to clubs at our level, but you do tend to see clubs still trying to do business on the day of the window closing. It is, but it isn’t. The odd player will be released just before the deadline, which makes them eligible to sign for clubs in September. Other than that, after the deadline closes it’s only domestic loans or free agents. I’d imagine free agents will be keen to get a club sorted asap. As the transfer deadline approaches, top flight clubs are more certain of who isn’t going to be involved and is therefore available for loan/can be released ahead of the deadline. As noted above, any non-domestic loans also need to be confirmed prior to this week’s deadline. Also have another away trip to Tannadice in September in the Challenge Cup.
