The one thing that I hate about this sport is the amount of meaningless statistics that are kept and quoted. American Football has to be the most over analysed sport. I agree that some statistics are meaningless, especially without context. For instance, JJ Watt only has 4.5 sacks so far but is still the most dominant defensive player in the NFL. However, the above Jets stat paints a perfect picture of the dominance of Damon Harrison, Sheldon Richardson, Mo Wilkerson (and everyone else) against the run so thought it was appropriate to boast. The same defence is also the most penalised in the league. They go from an area where there is not a lot of money to one full of it and can't cope. Wonder how long until the NFL takes a zero tolerance approach and rather than a 4 game ban, you just get the year out and no money.
