Reasons to be Cheerful

Recommended Posts

I'm off to The Mearns tomorrow with my crowbar, I'm getting a new telly and home cinema.

I'll leave the key under the post box, no point in making a mess of the door.

I want some of thon sheep that were wandering about his garden.

I'd recommend the deer that live in the woods.

That's the kind of warm Oz welcome I've come to expect. Thank you, but the nice folk at Emirates have arranged for us to be lifted and dropped door to door :D

Oh no you've misunderstood, I was going to recommend a cab company who'd take you via the "tourist route" to your hotel and charge you $400.

Seriously though, where are you visiting? Roughly. I don't want your full itinerary.

Place called Manly just outside Brisbane. The wife's sister stays there.

I just had to google that, given the average Aussie's desperate and defensive attempts to exaggerate their heterosexuality. But it's true! There's the Manly Harbour, the Manly State School, and doubtless many more. Fair dinkum bruce! Keep Manly Manly!

Waiting on word about an interview for a new job. It's a 5 minute walk from the house, and a 12pm finish every Friday. That would be bloody perfect.

How long do you expect to wait to find out if you have an interview? In the olden days you used to apply, get or not an interview within a week, and if you hadn't heard from them a couple of days later you knew you hadn't got it. I applied for 3 jobs that I'm quite well qualified for a fortnight ago, and indirectly I've heard they're still considering my CV. Is that usual nowadays? P.S. Good luck. :)
