Paul Marnie
Sound logic I suppose. I just thought AP had enough left in him to value the #1 pick. Yup, definitely. It was a straight choice between those 2, AP will no doubt be better this year but Martin won't be far behind (I hope) and has more miles left on the clock. There'll be no surprises though who's my #1 in the regular league...hint, it's not Doug Martin
Mr. Brightside
Brees is a better choice than Martin IMO
GingerSaint
Decent strategy to get your QB sorted early. Controversial, but I can see why the pick was made.
Paul Marnie
Brees is a better choice than Martin IMO That's what makes FF great fun, everyone's opinions are different. Brees is solid & will no doubt put up great numbers again this season, saying that I didn't have him going in the 1st round, let alone #2.
jagfox
I guess with dynasty version a franchise qb has greater value potentially over the years?
Paul Marnie
I guess with dynasty version a franchise qb has greater value potentially over the years? Yeh, but QBs will last a lot longer than RBs. Brees will be 35 by the time the playoffs are in flow but will still have another couple of seasons in him. So despite being 10 years older than Martin, Brees is still an acceptable pick this early, depending on strategy etc.

Elway Montana and Marino all carried on putting in big seasons into their 40s.

Mr. Brightside
Thing is there's few QB's that you could rely on to put up good numbers. Brees, Manning(s) Brady and Rodgers

CountyFan
It's easier to find a productive running back than a productive QB. And it's a passing league

Paul Marnie
Aaron Rodgers. The QB rush is on. I was expecting my top 5 ranked QBs to go before my 2nd pick...I'm not so confident in that now Leave me Sanchez at least guys

jagfox
Im guessing it might slow until round two or three? Some big point throwers still available. Surely rb next few picks?
