LongTimeLurker
Think parades like this have been rerouted away from the Gallowgate for a while now. Rerouted parades and dissident Republicans from Scotland being lifted for allegedly planning to murder Johnny Adair and Sam McCrory should put an end to the notion that it's only a "failed statelet" issue. Meanwhile in "Southern Ireland" new revelations have just been made about Gerry Adams on RTE: http://www.independent.ie/irish-news/the-iras-disappeared-return-to-haunt-adams-29721918.html http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m20MSe3--BQ Edited November 6, 2013 by LongTimeLurker
Horsedosh
The Orange Order - how can you say you are a Christian organisation when your sole prupose appears to be to hate other people who are also Christians but take a different view on how best to love Jesus. I give up. BTW - VOTE NO in the referendum and you too will be showing your support for the orange order http://www.orangeorderscotland.com/ (no need to go past the first page).

LongTimeLurker
I suspect someone will be along soon telling us that we should vote Yes in the referendum so that cricket can be replaced by wall to wall Gaelic language broadcasting of shinty games being watched by two sheep and a crofter called Calum. If there's one thing to grasp about Scottish culture it's that some backward " them and us" mentalities are much more socially respectable than others. Would love to see Scotland get full test-playing status eventually just to watch the Hamish Husband types going mental about it. Half Rice Half Chips
Another march http://m.stv.tv/news/west-central/247146-apprentice-boys-of-derry-loyalist-gallowgate-march-route-changed/ Why do they feel the need to march this time? I like the bit near the end; the participants will "disperse". Is that the new term for "get absolutely shitfaced"?
topcat(The most tip top)
A severe lack of cricket here???? Twenty20 World Cup qualifiers kick off a week on Friday. Ireland should dispose of Canada in Abu Dhabi in their first game in Group A while Group B sees Scotland open against Afghanistan in a game that Could go either way.
Horsedosh
That was meant to be a bit tounge in cheek - although a bit ironic that those at different ends of this particular spectrum find themselves as bedfellows. The first part of my post was not ironic and it genuinely saddens.
Syd Barrett
On an unrelated note, how many pubs are there in the Barras/Gallowgate? There must be about 20, how on earth do they all survive. I was down the Barras a couple if months ago and there is a pub right in the middle of it, I think it's called Traders. I really wanted to go in for a pint to sample the atmosphere but the mrs wouldn't have it. :-(

Got closed down the week before the Ajax game but they're trying to sort it.

Half Rice Half Chips
The thought struck me this morning, with all the walking the orange community do all year round, how do they continue to have such an obesity problem within their ranks?

topcat(The most tip top)
You do have to wonder about the daytime drinkers of the Gallowgate. They apparently could be reasonably expected to come out of the put to get annoyed at a march in the street but the police don't think they lack the commitment to walk a two minute down the street to get offended. I suspect they're not taking this seriously
