I really only eat them when hungover these days, and McDonalds does the trick for me in that respect.

In the Big Mac vs Whopper debate- the whopper has fucking actual tomato on it which is no use to anyone. T

I stopped here - have you ever had, you know, a really nice burger say in decent restaurant or one of those pubs that go in for specialising in burgers that seem really popular these days? The burgers aren't just splashed with some mushy sauce like a takeaway one is, the salad is "proper" salad as you would expect and if there was no actual tomato I'd be confused.

He's absolutely right. Why would I want that shite when I could get a gloriously juicy and flavourful burger from five guys or honest burger, for roughly the same price? That's be beyond stupid.

As soon as they open a five guys or honest burger in Ayrshire, I'll be only too happy to frequent their establishments.

ETA: And no, he's not absolutely right. He stated that the people who like XL bacon double cheeseburgers are the same people who like microwaveable lasagne.

I like the former, whilst detesting the latter.

So he's wrong.

I don't like actual tomatoes, but I do like tomato flavoured things. Those horrible big tomato rings you get on a whopper with the chewy green stem still in the centre give me the boak.

If I get one of them there fancy burgers that you refer to and it looked as if it was going to contain tomato, i'd either ask for no tomato, or most likely just pick it off as I like avoiding conflict.

Tomatoes on burgers = wrong IMO.

Massive Burger King fan, and was only introduced to it in March by a mate from uni who calls himself a 'Burger King enthusiast'. I ate from it more or less every night when I was in Majorca. Was also in also in London last month and was completely mind-blown by their drink selection. They've got these big machines, and you can choose any soft drink from the Coca-Cola people, in any flavor (free re-fills as well). I was sitting with an XL double whopper (no jokes here, plz) and a Dr. Pepper. Absolutely buzzing. Their burgers are clearly the best though, it's a little bit pricey but you definitely get what you pay for.

Was chatting about this last night on Facebook with a couple of my pals, only for them to tell me they're opening up a BK in Livingston in October. I'm still absolutely fucking buzzing off this news.

I understand now but I wouldn't have replied if you just had said "I can't stand tomatoes", you kind of implied tomato on a burger was generally wrong.

Just a misunderstanding. Do you not even like fried tomato with a cooked breakfast? Lovely when it's been done right.

Interesting logic. Completely wrong, mind.

I'm not having a dig at you, I'm partial to a BK XL double cheeseburger myself but to suggest those are the best burgers money can buy is laughable. Any decent bar/restaurant will serve burgers at least on a par with those.

For what it's worth, BurgerBar in Amsterdam is my favourite. It's literally the first place I go when I'm over there. Honourable mentions to Fuddruckers and In-N-Out Burger in the USA.

If I wanted salad, I'd buy a salad. Get it the f**k off my burger. I'm here for a bread, meat, cheese and bacon party only.

This is P&B where hyperbole is king.

No, I have tried that in the past as there are other foods I like / dislike when cooked instead of raw (like raw carrots but hate cooked). No tomatoes for me.

That the Leicester Square one? Those freestyle machines are the best fun. Add vodka for additional fun.

That was the one I went into on the first day, yeah. I was completely blown away by these drinks machines. Went into the one in Kensington the following night when I was wrecked and they were there again. Hopefully the one opening up here is state of the art as well.

You could even get Powerade!

I didn't though, because it's fucking awful

Perhaps I should have said the XL bacon double is the pinnacle of fast food burgerdom.

I'm sure there are far better burgers out there, there just isn't all that much choice down my neck of the woods.

The only purpose for McDs and BK is to bloat yourself after a heavy night on the booze. Pure comfort during the eating. Absolute stomach armageddon afterwards.

On that basis only I would choose McDs.

I wouldn't feed McDonald's food to my next door neighbours dog, and I hate that little fucker.

Don't really eat fast food these days, but on the rare occasion it would be an XL bacon double cheeseburger meal - large (obvs)
