I can see on the instrument panel there is display similar to the petrol gauge, but with battery power, which sits at 10%. It starts well, it's only 2 years old.

I think I will have to take it in.

I know the mild hybrid thing is a bit of a con and the car will run perfectly well without the auxiliary battery, but I'd like to know what I'm doing wrong. No doubt there's a button somewhere I've overlooked.

Looks like it’s a semi-common issue, and often related to either a software update or a sensor.

It's all very confusing. I might just set it on fire.

TL;DR is take it to the stealer dealer to sort out, that’s not normal, and they’ll have seen it before.

I did, they don't resolve issues on site. I had to phone the warranty provider, I'm waiting for a call back. It'll probably be Monday now.

I'll just continue to destroy the planet until it's fixed.

Decided just to add this the the thread.

Got the renewal for the car insurance from the AA.

38% increase from last year with no change to the policy mean they will be told to f off.

Be interesting to hear what your best deal is.

Are MGs any good? Thinking about getting the wife one.

You bought a Crossland and now you're considering an MG ?

Please don't take this as a personal slight but your choice / taste in horseless carriages is highly questionable.

Your car choices are verging on more questionable than mine.

Stick with a Runabout or Galaxy Class imo.

7 year warranty included...

Given the absolute state of replacement parts being sold in the U.S. that are manufactured in China, buying a Chinese owned consortium’s vehicle, even with a seven year warranty, seems daring. And what’s covered for seven years is the question to ask.
