Bitcoin/cryptocurrency thread

Recommended Posts

Some big crypto trader posted a screenshot of his $5 million FTT buy just before it nuked, followed by replies mocking his misfortune/terrible judgement, which led to offers of a square go 'in real life'.

So many crypto bros have completely lost touch with reality.

Had an interesting chat with a chap in Cyprus a couple of weeks ago. He was recently unemployed having worked for Celsius. It was his fourth job in the country and the other three were for criminal non-crypto companies. His conscience had had enough and he was going to open a hostel.

Loads of shops accepting bitcoin, pretty much all of the mid/up-market ones in the North did. Not sure how many folk actually use the facility though.

The Turkish Lira has taken a dive nearly as much as Bitcoin due to Erdogan's Truss like approach to inflation, debt and interest rates.

The lira has roughly halved against the dollar over 12 months while bit coin has halved and halved again

so Bitcoin has effectively only halved once if you’re Turkish

If you had bought Bitcoin in December 2017 and held it for almost five years it would currently be worth less than what you paid for it.
