The Master
Not the usual trivia you find in local papers, but rather an example of the Dailymailification of the press. http://www.thecourier.co.uk/news/local/dundee/it-was-beyond-justice-scotrail-apologises-for-disabled-woman-s-shocking-treatment-at-dundee-1.552940 Sensational headline - check Company actually acted reasonably - check Sadface photo - check

knee jerk reaction
As the taxi was dropping her where she'd have gotten off the train at the station, so if the lift at the platform had been working normally, then how was she originally planning to get home with no bus pass or money in the first place??
Hedgecutter
As the taxi was dropping her where she'd have gotten off the train at the station, so if the lift at the platform had been working normally, then how was she originally planning to get home with no bus pass or money in the first place?? Exactly what I was thinking. I'd be interested in what her alternative plan was. I'd go for the headline: 'A disabled woman claims rail staff left her on a Dundee station platform overnight until a broken lift was repaired in first thing in the morning'

Phone her friend in Tayport, obviously.

nsr
As the taxi was dropping her where she'd have gotten off the train at the station, so if the lift at the platform had been working normally, then how was she originally planning to get home with no bus pass or money in the first place?? Yes, presumably the taxi driver wasn't planning to drop her off at the platform at the bottom of the lift.

BigRubberFist
http://www.thesouthernreporter.co.uk/news/local-headlines/police-arrest-man-with-socks-on-hands-1-3538070 Police arrest man with socks on handsIain McCallum, 30, of Bannerfield Drive, Selkirk, appeared from custody and admitted being found in the curtilage of a house near Darnick in circumstances it may be inferred he intended to commit theft, on September 5. At Selkirk Sheriff Court on Monday, Prosecutor Alasdair Fay told how McCallum was seen “hanging around, looking through domestic waste bins.” When he spotted police, the accused “legged it”. “He was wearing two pairs of socks, often done rather than carrying gloves,” added Mr Fay. McCallum also admitted stealing a charity box of sweets at Business Gateway, Ettrick Riverside, Selkirk, on July 26. Defence solicitor Ross Dow said his client had “re-established a drug addiction. Sentence was deferred until October 20 for reports and a DTTO assessment. Edited September 12, 2014 by BigRubberFist
