Watching Patriot on Amazon Prime. It's great. Premise is that Terry O'Quinn (John Locke from Lost) is some kind of shady CIA type guy who needs to ensure that Iranian election isn't won by someone who wants to get their nuclear programme up and running. The best way to do this is to send an operative (Michael Dorman) into an industrial piping company who has dealings in Iran. The problem is that it's a non-official cover so he has to apply for, interview for then carry out this job in Milwaukee at the same time as trying to bribe or kill people, steal stuff from a police station and avoid the attention of a detective from Luxembourg. It's part spy thriller, part black comedy with some very funny, almost slapstick stuff and a superb supporting cast including Kurtwood Smith (Boddiecker from RoboCop) and Gil Bellows. It's kind of non-linear and there are loads of people who pop up in the background who turn out to be major characters later. It's very good.

Space:1999 re-run being shown on Forces tv channel.
Barbara Bain as Dr Helena Russell
Never realised she was married to Martin Landau, they also starred together in the original Mission Impossible tv series.

My absolute favourite back in the day.

Good show on BBC Two called Race Across the World, where five groups compete to be the first from London to Singapore (without taking planes or using smartphones) and on a £1300 budget.

The dad should win just for putting up with his son, who started crying about how it was too much about two days in to the trip in Budapest.
