Can Liverpool win the league?

Chelsea have the easiest run-in IMO, can't see them dropping many points. After Arsenal on Sunday, 6 of their last 7 are against bottom half teams.

The other being at Anfield.

With both Chelsea and Man City to visit before the end of the season, the title could well be Liverpools to lose.

I would love for them to win - i used to hate them for years and jumped on the loliverpool bandwagon but this season they have been so entertaining to watch, Rogers is a great manager and they haven't had the ridiculous sums of money available to them as City and Chelsea. Fancy Chelsea to win it still though i think its theirs to lose still.

By definition the title is Man City's to lose. They are the only team who are absolutely guaranteed to win the title if they win all of their remaining matches.

If Chelsea win their remaining 8 games they would still be 3 points behind if Man City win all 11 of their matches.

If Liverpool win their remaining 9 games (including the one against City) then they would still finish a point behind if Man City won every other game.

The same is true of Arsenal. If they won all 9 games (including City), but City won each other game (including Liverpool) then City would finish a point ahead.

Therefore Man City are the only side who don't have to hope for results to go their way elsewhere. They do arguably have the toughest run-in though, with trips to Anfield, the Emirates, Goodison and Old Trafford.

No - still a bridge too far. Chelsea will win the league.

Liverpool may very well be second though - which was unimaginable at the start of the season.

Brendan Rodgers must be a stick on for manager of the year. Absolutely magnificent job he's done. Fantastic manager.

They do still have to play both Chelsea and City though. The chances of them winning both games (which they'd probably have to do to have a chance of winning the league) is pretty low.

After the scuddings that Everton and Arsenal got in the last 2 big games at Anfield I'm not so sure either of the billionaire playthings will fancy the trip.

We gave Porridge to Chelski cos he got too big for his boots at City but appears he's finally grown in to them at Liverpool, what with him, Suarez & the young lad Sterling, that's our hardest away game, mind we have already beaten them at ours eh, so confidence is up.

Podge wants to get his own back on us for giving him away, which will be his downfall, he'll try to hard to score, fucksakes he's greedy enough as it is but against us he'll not pass the ball, which will piss Suarez off so hopefully he'll have a shit game too. ;)

;) ... What a game that could be on the 13th Grim.

Remember going to the Youth Cup final in 2006. The 2nd leg away at Man City Sturridge was the best player on the pitch by an absolute mile funny how he somehow ended up at Liverpool.

Can they? Yes. Will they? Probably not.

Which is roughly what the markets say, although that's what they say about the other contenders as well

Liverpool are 10/3 at coral

Compared to 6/4 city (paddy Power) and 2/1 Chelsea(bet Victor)

Bet Victor also quote 14/1 for Arsenal which looks a little generous

Is it? Theyve only lost one home game this season, and that was in September and only drawn one, a "blip" against Villa. Chelsea and City have both dropped points in as many games than theyve won away from home.

I certainly wouldnt bet against Liverpool winning both those games

I was always a bit doubtful about a possible title contending Liverpool team however that is really a straighforward run in bar the two standout games. With their home record and City and Chelseas questionable away form, its not a stretch to think Liverpool can win both those games. Up until this season, ive always had a dislike of Liverpool but the way they have played their football, i would rather they won it as opposed to either City or Chelsea
