He plays Football Manager IMO.

£100k up front, then £2m spread over 6 windows, £2m if you win the league, £3m if you win the Champions League and 50% of any profit.

If it was over £1m, we'd be screaming out about it being a transfer record.

My uneducated guess is some concessions on the Ramsay deal + a more moderate up front free and possibly a sell on.

No I wasn't mate but I did attend both days of the 1981 pre season tournament.

There were some pretty well knew faces on show over the couple of days including Keegan, Charlie George, Alan Ball, Mick Channon.

We positively ripped the Southampton team containing the above apart 5-1 on the Sunday.

Future Arabs manager Ivan Golac also played.

If I remember correctly we won the princely sum of £25,000 as prize money 😂

Wouldn't even pay for our B team playing the Lowland League...

(Although adjusted for inflation that's equivalent to £53,240, which would pay for 1 years bribes membership, and enough left over for rowies and pies)

ETA: Edited for £15,000 first prize, not £25,000.

How did he compare to the rest of the league?

Obviously passed the eye test for us.

Abover average at everything, and exceptional at final 3rd stuff (creating/scoring).

Appreciate you posting graphs etc., but anyone who watches this lad knows he looks for the ‘eye of a needle pass’.  Exceptional passer to create openings and only scores ‘worldies’.
I honestly feel his best position though is just in front of the back 4 , along with an all action tough tackling midfielder.

That's a great shout about modifying the Ramsay deal. Initially I was thinking along the lines of our Duk deal where we sign away a large part of any future selling amount made.

Oops. Just read Alan Borrows tweet.
