The Famous Aberdeen - Season 2022/23

Preston have given him the No.9 shirt this season, and has been playing in pre-season.  Can't see him leaving at this point.

Neither can I see us getting Boyce unfortunately. He seemed to be playing quite well at the end of last season after coming back from injury, despite Burton's eventual relegation.

Derek's typical approach of signing tried and tested Scottish top flight players might need to be stretched for this summer signing.

At least he seems to realise we need a striker. Our use of the foreign markets has been really poor.

Utterly bizarre
Part of the condition of Rogers new contract must have been getting guaranteed game time somewhere
Why not just sell him?

Apparently The Sun are reporting this Lyness story now. But it’s on trial not a signing. But proves we had no one lined up before Rodgers going on loan. Lyness is 26. Just back from being on tour with St Johnstone.

I really hope that whatever Plan A was, with letting Danny Rogers go to St Mirren, has fallen drastically and completely unexpectedly apart.  That can be the only plausible explanation for the clusterfuck we currently seem to be in.

And is Dominic Ball really on his way back to us ?

ballsl performances last month or so were excellent .played in the right position .     so  he can do a job for us  ..i be happy if he is coming back .. its   a start ..but hopefully more quality will come over the next week

Ball was never excellent and few mediocre games at the end of last season do not make up for the dross before it. Has to be better options than him available.

once again he is more than able do a job for us in the right position and has proved it .   he will be a good squad player ,  and   thats exactly what this signing will be ..      nobody is saying he is first pick  ....  our main targets are not balls position ...you know that yes.?

He’s still young for a keeper, and we’re wanting him to get a Premiership game time elsewhere, which he won’t get with us given the standard of Lewis.

No idea why so many folk seem astonished or puzzled by this.

Squad players should be players who will push the players who are first picks to keep performing or lose their place. Ball is  not a threat to any of our existing first 11.

Post split ball was very good, if we were getting post split ball back I’d be quite happy with it as back up.

The worry is that those last few games don’t represent what we’d get over the course of a season.

Just as silly to ignore the previous 9 months.
