Dunning1874
Hearts were 99% going to win the league anyway with their resources, but coming down with a squad needing serious work done unlike the last time and appointing a clownshoe figure like McCann or Pressley would have had genuine potential to go wrong. There's no way Neilson will fail to win the league at a canter.

Does he feel more comfortable in the Championship looking for promotion than in the Premiership fighting to stay up? Hes aiming to become the most successful manager in Scottish league history in terms of league titles, entirely through Championship wins. In 12 months he'll be joining Dundee.

Who's making the appointment. btw? Is there a Sporting Director in place that hasn't been announced?

Aye, appointing the guy who got hounded out by fans who flew a plane over Tynecastle from Dundee United, a club who could directly lose out as a result of legal action launched by Hearts, is really dull. https://www.heartsfc.co.uk/news/article/robbie-returns-1

Falcor Roar
Not hugely inspiring but a safe appointment for the job ahead. Responsible for two of the worst results in our history (Birkirkara and the money spinner) but I expect we're getting a better manager now than he was before he left. Hopefully we play with freedom like the first 2 seasons instead of the turgid negativity of the rest of his stewardship.

To be fair the “money spinner” would have been forgotten by now if Rangers hadn’t managed what was previously thought impossible
