williemillersmoustache
Edinburgh, not a European footballing town IMO.
Elixir
Were Aberdeen not a crossbar or something from going out to some microstate side just the other week as well? Scottish football is a backwater, guys, you'll also be done and dusted a fortnight from now. Exciting stuff.
williemillersmoustache
No it was goals, not crossbars. You don't get ant points for hitting the crossbar. Surprised you didn't know that tbh.
s_dog
What'll be even more embarrassing for Scottish Football is if Hearts finish anywhere near a top three side this season. Aberdeen are likely to get knocked out in the next round, but that'll be up against a team who have a decent record in Europe in recent years - which is a lot more than can be said for any Scottish team. They got knocked out of Champions League qualifying early last year, but the previous year they got through the qualifiers (beating Celtic on the way) and drew with Sporting Lisbon, Schalke & Chelsea (though did get hammered 6-0 at Stamford Bridge) in the group stages. They got through the group stages of the Europa League in 2013/14 and were only knocked out 3-4 on aggregate by winners Sevilla. It'd be more of a shock if Aberdeen beat them.
JamieThomas
I'd love to see Neilson smashed in the face with a claw hammer. A snuff movie starring Levein and Budge would also tickle my fancy.
Tony Wonder
Bjorn Johnsen signs on a 3 year deal. Got to think that'll be Juanma's tea out. The boy might well turn out to be a good player but I can't help thinking we should maybe be signing players who can create, you can have all the strikers in the world but it matters not a jot if there's no service to them.
Kyle
Should certainly help build on Hearts brand of expansive football.

Which makes King's loan move ever more baffling!

Ya Bezzer!
6'5 Ah Levein - ever the shrewd tactician and football thinker! Another one for Gorgie Road's shitey foreign legion. It's really hard to believe what's happened to Hearts it just over two years. From having a highly promising team of young Scottish players to this bunch of over paid United Nations of diddy cloggers.

Some players clearly never kicked on from that team well enough to help us progress, we have no obligation to be showing loyalty just because of nationality. There were still 7 Scots involved last night, 6 under the age of 23.
Duffy_
Johnson looks like he could be a decent signing, was linked with Valencia recently and likened to John Carew. Surprised he didn't get the first flight out of Edinburgh airport after last night's shambles

Why would it be a shock? We're still making signings and this league is utter dug shit. You could pick out pretty much any club in it to have had a shocker in Europe. Celtic and Aberdeen have still lost games to sides from Gibraltar and Luxembourg only this month. The Perth Pack finished a solid fourth last season after losing to some goat farmers from Armenia ffs. We certainly won't be lower than 4th again and I'm still expecting 2nd or 3rd, even with Snoreson and his puppet master in charge. paranoid android
Three-year contracts for players you're taking a risk on is definitely the way ahead.

We will finish near the top 3/4 this season, and that's because the rest of Scottish football in general is absolute pap.
topsider
My mate asked me last night when was the last time hearts had a proper leader in the pitch. Someone who would grab the game by the scruff of the neck. My answer was Ryan Stevenson4 years ago

Agreed, it also makes him virtually undroppable, Best thing to do is change captain before the start of the season.
