Estragon
3 hours ago, Darren said: So far on today's Sportsound, Willie Miller has argued a draw is the worst result for Dundee and St Mirren today; Richard Gordon has referred to the Armistice as a celebration; Chick Young keeps on mentioning Thistle are on the attack in a match between Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Partick Thistle, and Pat Bonner is calling the Hearts goalkeeper Zamel. Now you mention it, "armistice celebration" I think is quite widely used nowadays.

7-2
An armistice is an agreement to end a war or other hostilities so it really should be celebrated, just as people were doing on VE and VJ days. However we seem to have come to look on it purely as a time to remember those that died in wars rendering celebrating unsuitable. Can't see the fireworks and party poppers going off at 11.11 today somehow.
