1320Lichtie Posted June 15, 2023 Share Posted June 15, 2023 (edited) Does anyone even know if we are back in training, seen a whole load of posts from other clubs about being back so guessing we are too. Mind last year we got that wee boys are back video and everything, know it was just a small video but was brilliant in building a wee bit of excitement before season starting (highlight of season in hindsight ). Finding myself getting hyped for the upcoming season off the back of news and signings from other clubs. Glad it’s going to be the last football free Saturday this weekend even if next weekend is just a pre season game, the last 6 weeks have been great but it’s just no the same when there’s no football on the Saturday. ExiledLichtie Posted June 15, 2023 Share Posted June 15, 2023 Hancock wasn't the answer, Banks wasn't the answer, Henderson wasn't the answer, Oakley was hit and miss...I think the only defensive player some of our fans would be happy with signing is if we brought Jason Thomson back out of his coffin to make up our defence. We need a left back and it looks like Steele can play at RB and CB, Gold and Stewart can cover there also. Left back cover and then attack minded players all over the gaff please after that. We are a solid side who overall were actually so very good at the back considering we had such a hard time going forward last year and the core of that is still here and not went anywhere. Bobby always felt like a lifeline for me we always knew that at times he could win games on his own or cause teams bother, obviously never going to get someone of that quality but someone or some players with that attitude would be a breath of fresh air. Tattie36 Posted June 16, 2023 Share Posted June 16, 2023 Maybe I was being naive but I had hoped we would have had a few players with quality and experience lined up to be announced this week… kind of like what Alloa have done. So far we’ve signed 2 from a much lower level, 2 from L2 and 1 from Cove. All feels a bit familiar. I’m not sure what the standard is like in the EOS but this reminds me a lot of Shanks signing. He had a great scoring record but was scoring against teams like Strathspay Thistle and Fort William.
