He'll be popular among 'certain circles' if rumours are to believed. Also, Roy Hodgson is 76 and still going, and doubt Campbell would be short of interviews at lower league clubs were he to apply. Suppose it's down to how he feels he'd do. I reckon plenty of clubs in League One down would take him.
RandomGuy.
All managers have a shelf life at a club, the unfortunate ones just stay too long. A shame its ended so bitterly but at least it hasnt ended with him relegating you.
lichtiekev
Dick probably should of been away before now, its been a long time coming bad sad to see it end on a sour note, he doesn't deserve the abuse he got but he should also know better and walk off, It's not just the defeats, it's the performance level and tactics we have e had for last 18 months or so, today we were well out played by a team 2 leagues down when we are almost full strength starting 11, Board need to get it right and get the right man in, They need someone who the fans will fer behind and get some excitement back,

SirJimmyofNic
Hes done wonders for Arbroath over the years, but hes really now a dinosaur in today's game, wish him all the best though
clashcityrocker
DC never had a good record in cup games, and ultimately it was the results in the last 2 cup games which resulted in his undoing. DC has proved that Arbroath do well with an older, long term experienced manager - I would be in favour of a similar new appointment.
1320Lichtie
Just for the record and incase anyone else says this is anything to do with us being too big for our boots or some other shite. Arbroath as a club and the supporters have been as patient as a club and group of fans could possibly be. Frustratingly patient. Not one person is expecting us to recreate any of the success we had in season 21/22. We know fine well that was a one off. Personally I don’t even expect to stay in this league I know how hard that is to do as a part time club. However that does not excuse poor decision after poor decision that has been made since being in such a position of strength. From falling out with players, being incredibly stubborn with the way he treated Bobby Linn and the support over their frustrations at that situation, the horrific recruitment last summer which lead to the club having to appoint a recruitment team, the decisions he’s made in regards to the squad depth in certain areas of the park and the incredible decisions he can make on a week to week basis in regards to the way we set up and in particular the substitutions we make. Some utterly baffling decisions have been made over the course of the last 18 months. If we go down we go down. I do not care. All I care about is doing what’s best for the club and there is no way that sticking with the current vibe and set up is taking us any other direction than down. The decline has been incredibly steep since the summer of 2022 in many aspects. It would be careless not to try and do something different, as sad and as hard as that is to do. There is no way anyone can argue that Arbroath and everyone associated never gave DC the best backing possible and as much time as we possibly could’ve, if you think otherwise then you simply do not understand. The way some of you lot are talking about a 70 year-old man is nothing short of a disgrace. Chasing him out the club calling him a fat b*****d at games and then showering him with this patronising pish about 'losing sparkle'. broomiesniper
As a Montrose fan, I, like others will be hoping that Petrie isn’t tempted. Would Arbroath not be better suited in going for a manager who has previous experience within the Championship?

diegomarahenry
Is there potential for Arbroath to go full time or hybrid? Campbell has worked wonders at Arbroath and you could say, better the devil you know, He'd have kept Arbroath up this year again but the football might be rotten. A new manager might not keep you up and then you have to try and get back out a League one with potentially three full time teams in it. But he was going to leave sometime and maybe having groundwork in place for a replacement in advance would have helped.
