DensParkNumber1
if your board only stopped saying 4000 fans will be turning up then this wouldn't be an issue ! Twice recently your board have been adamant that between 3500 and 4000 Dundee fans would be making the game, only for half that to turn up. Catch 22 for saints. Damned if they don't make it all ticket , damned if they do
Deefiant
According to the highland press* Jackson Irvine is out of Countys next 2 games. Pleasing. *due to the backwards nature of the highlands and their aversion to technology don't be surprised to hear this is news from months ago just getting out now and that he is fully fit to dominate our midfield again. Ludo*1
He's contracted til summer 2018. How much money do you have? We spent £100k on Kevin Holt in the summer. I'd imagine we'll have a little bit to play with, especially if Stewart/Bain/Hemmings (Delete as appropriate) leave in the summer. I also don't think it'd take mega-bucks to tempt St Mirren considering their previous dealings.

harry94
I thought it was only £40k? Thought that was the fee reported at the time. Yeah, I think it was just speculation initially that it would be £100k, but most sources said it ended up being agreed upon as £40k and sorted before the tribunal. The issue, in this case, is a lot more difficult I think. He's under contract until 2018, and although St Mirren are maybe not in the best financial position, they would be wise to value Mallan at more than £100k at least. He's scored 11 goals from midfield in a weak side, and although their poor start has put them out of the play-off race, they have begun to look stronger and getting another physical midfielder in next to him good be they key in promotion next year. And if they are in a mood to sell, I reckon that other sides (i.e. Celtic, Rangers, Hearts and Aberdeen) will be happy enough to outbid us and go for it. Selling a player could make it more likely, but I reckon that £100k+ is our ceiling.

Those who know think Mallan could be better than both of those, and he has two years to run. A ten-goal midfielder (albeit in a shit league) and free-kick specialist who has only just turned 20: I'd like to think he'd cost any buyer a bit more than we managed to sell those two future internationals for. You're right, though: we do have a history of apparently bartering our players' values down somewhat.

See him as Gary Harkins potential successor - how is his marking at corners?
harry94
So anything over £100k.. Dund€€ Pretty much, we don't fanny about with anything lower.
NorthBank
McGinn was out of contract but we let him go to Hibs for a reduced development fee of £130,000 plus 30% sell-on fee. Mallan has another two years on his contract and his development fee alone if he was out of contract would be well in excess of 100k. And although playing in a poorer League that has to be offset by playing in a shit team. His scoring record from midfield is far better than McLean's or McGinn's and he is younger than the pair of them when they were sold. Hopefully this time we will play hard ball and get a decent fee for a player instead of giving them away.
