That one did indeed come to my mind earlier.  Turns out that the Z in Lenzie is only a relatively recent thing. Originally it was pronounced with a yogh.

dunno mate, only moved here a few years ago - makes sense though

2/3 of U.S. EV sales are still Teslas. Around here it’s generally been because the Tesla price is equal or better than the other company EV price (no franchisee overhead, etc) and they were the only ones that could access the Supercharger network (that’s now changed). The majority of owners seem to be smug ex-BMW, ex-Audi, ex-Mercedes and ex-Lexus types, and until the Teslas start indicating for them, it’s no improvement.

The way that the A90 diversions have been handled is a shambles, to put it politely

I travelled from Aberdeen to Glasgow via Braemar yesterday took 4 hours.

Got to travel back for work tomorrow morning but not sure which way to go - thinking going through to Arbroath and going the Coastal road but Lower North Water Bridge is shut, so hopefully diversions before then. Megabus is running so there is some way of getting there.

A large number of vehicles going through brechin and Montrose today. The ones in Montrose seemed to have just followed what their sat navs have been telling them cos a number of lorries were reversing when they realised the couldn't get under the low bridge at hillside!

The traffic all seemed to be heading through Forfar. Pretty much nose to tail through town all morning. Never seen so many lorries. Thought they were re-making Convoy.

Fun fact.  Sam Peckinpah of Convoy fame had a daughter called ‘bridie’.  Coincidence?

A major lack of co-ordination between Traffic Scotland and the impacted councils.  The boss of TS (or their boss) is okay with the message going out: "we can't recommend a diversion because they aren't our roads".

The A93 is fine for cars, so no idea why this route isn't being publicised, rather than effectively sending more vehicles on damaged back-roads around Brechin and Laurencekirk. (by the sounds of things it is taking up to 3 hours from Perth to Aberdeen at the moment so it might actually be quicker)

A couple of journalists have tweeted today that the A90 might be closed for several weeks.

I think that's the worst case scenario, Amey seem to be hoping it's open tomorrow.

Would make sense even if just to HGVs under escort although if you have to take the across one at a time it might not be the best thing in the world.

I'm not sure it's been mentioned or not - the bridge at Peggy Scott's on the A90. Has anyone seen/heard the founds are gubbed and this is the normal for the foreseeable?

Reopened under a contraflow on the southbound carriageway.

I suspected that might happen because it’s two individual bridges, and the s/b is a single span. The n/b has supports in the river which are probably knackered.

You might have mentioned it to someone

Suspect they were taking the Aberlemno road to Brechin and then up the A90 from there? (on the assumption that North Water Bridge by Stracathro is open?)

The Aberlemno Road is f*ck*d and has been closed since Sunday.  Yesterday every single lorry and car was coming through Montrose and Brechin.

How are were they getting to Brechin?  Forfar/Arbroath > Friockheim > Brechin?

And why is was Montrose heaving in that instance if the Lower North Water Bridge and Marykirk road (and presumably the damage zone in Brechin) are closed?
